An Ethiopian man with 11 wives and 77 children is urging people not to follow his example and is giving advice on family planning and contraception.
After seeing his fortune disappear under the competing demands of his enormous family, Ayattu Nure, 56, even urges people not to get married.
oh! let the VIAGRA researchers take part on this.By the way is he resistant to the ugly disease HIV?
Long live the king.I wish i had more children than him.
This is so sad and very backward practice that should not be done especialy during this time -i mean the modern time.People need to go with time otherwise every thing is going to be down fall for this world -particularly the developing ones.First of all one should not have to bear so many children knowing that he can not fullfill their very bassic needs .And secondly it is something that directly affects the morality and the social statues of our sisters and mothers. How do you feel if your mother’s husband has multiple of wives besides her .This is insane .Evern the Koran do not support this if we do not take just a part of its quotations. And now most people in the muslim world understand this and prefer marring just one and only one.But to see some one who can not even feed himself with a bunch of wives is so disturbing .
And now we are in this time that the productivty of the people/land is not balanced with the population growth .So we can not just fill the land with people knowing that we can not support ourselves.
In this case i think the govrnment of Ethiopia should pass a legislation that prohibits polygamy.
The government can not talk about the rights of people while the rights of women has been abused to the worest degeree.
Woman of ethiopia should be given a Referundem to decide about polygamy. They should get a self-determination about their fate.
Uncontrolled population growth and depletion of resources is one of the basic problems in Africa in general and in Ethiopia in particular. I hope the government will be deligent in teaching the Ethiopian people about the advantage of monogamy and birth control. Imagine if each of the boys of this guy have multiple wives and have atleast 30 kids each they will have their own tribe in no time. Funny but not so funny.
There is no surprise why half of the ethiopian population is claimed to be the oromos! May God watch after his wives and children!
God bless Abrahams decendant
Even so it comes from backwardens Really this is funny.Hay father how about your back? Because you got a lot of work with women.Ethiopians specially muslim please take one man with one woman.
It’s so a surprising thing to me, too.I don’t know what to say, but I want to know that did he do another job in his life or he just was busy by making children and made love with his wives.
Anyhow, God bless his family.
Father whay not add one more to get dozen.
God bless you Mr Ayatu, you done a good job,we african particulary Ethiopian are a very edangerd race.People like you Should be honered because you are trying to replace the lost ethiopains by sistematic warefare waged on us,such as Aids, poverity, unemployment which are the result of bad governance, high population is a wealth for our country,
Today In Ethiopia ,peoples who have 100 childeren or one child live the same life without resorces to feed the children,to educate .The land is taken, the imployment oportunity taken to others,Our national sprit and and pride under a big threat.Only Ethiopian children are the wealth for beloved county. untill
I believe polygamy should be incouraged but monitored as the same time for containing any spreading disease that may affect the family and beyound. The individual story with 11 wife and 77 offsprings is a reality and part of a greater culture for Ethiopians and Africans as a whole. We can not change and irradicate our culture only to embress western or christian civilization that is none-ethiopian, or, to accept western culture that doesn’t recognise communal liveing must be seen as dangerious trend that may undermine the survival of the comunity under discussion. The government should restrain itself from taking away indivdual rights of religion, or choice of life style, that can be practised by citizens. Infact, the government should incourage responsible polygamy marriages as they promise to maintain communal life style and a culture that would survive for the next generation.
Bonso gemeda and Jayalano this is your sight you do something for oromo people.Talk is not change oromo or other people life. this comment from your brother.
that’s crazy that’s relly crazy he dosen’t even know all there names how dose suport all of them dosen’t he even care about his wifes. that’t a bad idea bad exaple it’s just wrong
This is an incredible story. I was amazed by Binladen’s father who has 52 children and this guy from Arsi probably could well be in The Guiness World Record books. Isn’t Polygamy outlawed in Ethiopia? I wish him and his family (88 of you) health and peace.
Could you help your brother from Arsi? The man can not afford to raise all his 77 kids, and your help is very much appreciated. As a fellow Oromo, this is your chance to help the man out.
