Ethiopia - McDonald's franchisee Geta Asfaw gives back to the community

D'Angelo McWilliams eyed the ranks of shiny new Huffy bicycles, searching for the one that would soon be his.

He didn't find it, but the Wyman Elementary School student, one of 330 fifth and sixth-graders to receive a bike at give-away arranged by McDonald's franchisee Geta Asfaw, wasn't disappointed.

"It feels good," said the 10year-old, who along with the other recipients got his bike during a later ceremony.

McWilliams and the rest of the students were nominated by their teachers and community organizations because of their academic achievement, good citizenship, financial need or chronic illness, said Asfaw, who owns six local McDonald's franchises.

Asfaw, who came to the United States to attend the University of Washington 35 years ago, said he organized the event to give back to the community.

Ok let’s make sense out of this. I believe that this man means well but let’s be clear about this. Macdonalds. That name shouldn’t be surprising with Charity and all the other nonsense they get into. Is this the same Macdonald’s that sells toxic, cancer causing denatured crap, that air minuplating Saturday morning commercials to entice childern to buy thier illusionary products, that cares nothing for the environment by cutting forests to feed cattle soy and so much more. The one you find in Hospitals. Then they go around and say oh we care about you and we do charity while we exploite you. I could go on but what a Shame on them and the corporations like them.

We need people who can be a role model to the young, we need hardworking citizens, we don need talkatives and paaper tigers like the kinds of CUD and its sympathisers. Ethiopia needs more people like Asfaw…
