Ethiopia's invasion is unlikely to bring peace and order to Somalia, or to assist the transitional government to establish an effective administration. Any external force that abandons an inclusive approach and sides with one group against another, is bound to exacerbate insecurity.
It is clear that the Somali Islamists are enemies to the US but arming and supporting a dictatorial regime with the notion of supporting the enemy's enemy will not bring positive outcome to the US as well as Ethiopians... It bothers me to see a writing of concern with no alternative suggestions. Ethiopia's aim is stabilization. The Islamists aim is to get back to power at all costs. The writer said Somalis must creat a situation for Ethiopian military to leave. That is creat peace and stability amongst themselves. But This is not the aim of the terrorists (Jihadists). Remember a Jihad was declared on Ethiopia just before Ethiopia went into Somalia.

Despite the pride and fierce independence of Somalis, this country is unfortunately a disaster. I think both "Daniel Tekle" and "Ron" are both correct above. I interpret this to mean the same thing. People should not commit blind support to one party because of either ethnic allegiance or hatred for the opposition. Like in the US, the reality is that most people really are moderate inside. Let's remember this when discussing issues. There is no reason why we can't 1) respect each other and 2) concede to another view once in a while. In the end, we are more alike than different.
