Dibaba storms to Olympic double
Ethiopia's Tirunesh Dibaba made it an Olympic double after winning the 5,000m on Friday in the Bird's Nest.
A week after winning the 10,000m, Dibaba sprinted to victory ahead of Turkey's Elvan Abeylegesse and defending champion Meseret Defar.
After a sluggish start with nobody willing to push the pace, Dibaba took the lead with two laps remaining to finish with a time of 15:41.40 secs.
It is the first time a female runner has won the 5,000m and 10,000m titles.

Tomorrow if we are gonna be lucky we will have atleast 1 gold and secure the 16th place expecting that Kenenisa will snatch the gold medal. I predict atleast one gold and if the the other two are strong enough we may still have the silver and bronte and even be 15th.. that wil bring us to be the 1st in africa.

If you have observed the race live you could see that the silver medalist had no one to cheer her up from Turkey when she was kind of begging for one. What a shame! That is all about being a sale out! Probably the Turks were ashamed of embracing a black race!Home sweet home!
Ethiopia won one to three. Shame to Ethiopian atheletics federation to mistreat AbeyLegesse. But we are proud of her as well, coz she is Ethio-Turkish.
We need to respect and honor those runners for a number of reasons. Ethiopia is degraded by its own government and Ethiopias image all over the world is distorted because of the abusive government. however, Ethiopians remained proud because of Tiruye, Meseret, Kenenisa and other runners. They are the only reason at this time to raise up our national flag.
Thankyou our athelets !
History has been made. It is a big day for women in Africa and in the World. Who wouuld have thought this was even possible. Congratulations Tirunesh and all the women of Ethiopia who she represents. She has just become a living legend at ther age of 23 and that is unbelievable. I have no doubt she will be a model for many generations of women to come and we are all proud of her.
