nazret.com - Ethiopian Airlines, one of Africa's most successful and largest airline, is targeting $1.5 billion sales by 2015, Reuters reported quoting Girma Wake, CEO of Ethiopian airlines. In 2007/08 FY year, Ethiopian airlines made posted full-year sales of 9.2 billion birr ($941 million), which is close to its 2010 goal. It transported 2.5 million passengers in 2007/08 and thereby almost achieved its 2010 target of 3 million, now hopes to carry 5 million passengers in 2015, Wake said.

The airline operates 27 aircrafts to over 50 destinations world wide including to North America, Asia, Africa and Europe. It has the largest network in Africa with more than 30 destinations and plans to expand its fleet to 45 aircrafts by 2015 and to serve 75 destinations by 2015, Reuters reported.

The pride of Ethiopia and Africa. I will always remember the professional beauty Ethiopian hostess who helped me on my flight from Bangkok Thailand to Addis Ethio a few Months back. She was a professional all the way. She had grace, style and a desire to help. What a refreshing change from the stuk up snobs in most US carriers. Way to go EAL.
