Ethiopia - Meles warns coffee exporters against hoarding
BY A STAFF REPORTER
In addition to the adverse effects of the slowing down of the global economy, local exporters have also played a role in undermining increase in exports, Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said in Parliament on Thursday.
“Above all, instead of trading through the Ethiopia Commodity Exchange, local exporters have chosen to hoard export commodities in warehouses,” Meles said.
He spoke particularly of coffee exporters, and how the commodity exchange was intended to curb shady practices.
Instead of abiding by the rules of the new system, however, Meles said that some coffee exporters were hoarding the commodity in their warehouses.

Hi this is stupid view to Melez zenawe he wants to seize people’s property.
Where is 20millions dollars worth COFFEE ? You and your DEDEB economist are looting ethiopia .
The decline in world market for our commodities is the major factor. If this is an excuse to cover for the inadequacies of the leadership of Meles, then you ought to know we know that you know how you do.
You can not have an economy when you have the nation dependant on export of two or three commodities, aid money and no manufacturing industry, wars all over and so on… If we are to depend on other nations for our income, we are doomed. The best way out is to industialize. Better yet say no to AID $$s and work to becoming self sufficient. Hey how about getting the Sheik to give back the Gold mines and then break his monopoly? That should be a starting point.
The picture says it all…Meles is showing us how small theSE IDIOTS’ IQ is…kikiki
I would have not baby sit them with advise and warning…i would have taken the appropraite action necessary IMMEDIATELY…
. . .hoarding is bad for economy, but he cannot wipe out all of those alligators belongs to his crusade. . .crusaders for LEBA!!!. . .
