Ethiopia - Dilla university to open new post graduate programs
Dilla University, one of state owned universities in the country, said it would open new post graduate programs in four fields of studies in the next academic year.
Speaking at a relevant meeting Academic and Research Deputy President with the university, Dr. Fikre Dessalegn said the university would commence training in biology, chemistry, physics and geography fields.
The university has planned to enroll 40 students in the new programs, he said.
The construction of two buildings launched at a cost of more than 40 million Birr in the premises of the university has already been completed. He said the newly constructed buildings would be utilized as post graduate program department.
Post Graduate Program Coordinator with the University, Dr. Wondawek Abebe on his part said that the university has been working closely with universities that have experience in the provision of relevant education for the success of the new programs.
The university has envisaged opening new post graduate programs in natural resource conservation, environmental science and other fields.
Acting President of the University, Tariku Beraso said the university is currently training over 12,000 students in various fields of studies.
