Ethiopia - Jijiga University to enroll 2,800 new students
Jijiga University in Ethiopia said it is to enroll over 2,800 new students in this academic year.
University president Abdunasir Ahmed told ENA that the university would enroll the students in various fields of studies including agriculture and rural development, business and economics social science and health science.
The university will enroll some 1,000 of the new students as of next week, he said. Some 1,019 of the new students are females.
Upon going fully operational the ongoing expansion construction to be executed in three phases would enable the university to admit 9,000 students, he said.
He said the university is to implement BPR aiming at enabling it to conduct researches along with training.
Established 1999 EC, the Jijiga University is currently enrolling 3,300 students in eight faculties.
