It’s time that we recognize our scientists and academicians, who are actually contributing awful lot to humanity.Stop the non-sense with nominating politicians, artist,or sport figures.
And my vote goes to:
#1 Dr. Gebisa Ejeta
#2 Teachers of Ethiopia for toiling in the field of education for little reward.
#3 none..surprising not even worthy of nomination.Put Myself and others on this site in the ballot for incessant reading and barking afterwards.
I: Liya Kebede she is a true queen of Ethiopia and she puts alot of work for ethopian needy but she never got notice for that

As i-am-he suggested, I will also vote for teachers who are working for peanut to bring out the future generation of Ethiopia.
Queen BURTUKAN of ethiopia who is now in weyannes jail. She stands for UNITY and ethiopianisem. She is the RE.incarnation of our past grat ethiopian women leaders..Jodit…
Who despite doing their share in shaping up the citizenry ,for often times low pay, are not thanked enough and not rewarded at all.
Go Ethiopian teachers!@!!!!!
I nominate PM Meles Zenawi for his selfless personalities, representing the whole Africa in G20 and soon in Copenhagen as a global environmentalist.
PM Meles is my person of the year for all good deeds in Ethiopia and Africa and wold too.
Meles zenawi indeed person of the year…. for all his contribution to our country.
Dr. Eleni Zaude Gabre-Madhin is my nominee for her postive contribution to the Ethiopian poor by pioneering a modern Ethiopian Commodities’ Exchange system(ECX).
PM Meles Zenawi for working very hard for Ethiopia under very difficult circumstances. Issayas Afewerki for the worst person of the year.
I nominate Ethiopia and the Ethiopian people for the unprecedented change and growth they are showing in the country.
Dr, Prf. Alemayehu G. Mariam and/or Birtukan Mideksa
For exposing corruption intimidation and tyranny.
I have so many individuals in mind. As I travel to Ethiopia and meet individuals that are working day and night to bring change my list is long. Unlike the Anbessas’ here we have geniune Ethiopians back home. The one that I felt deserves ever honour is The Donkey library founder Ato Yohannes Gebregiorgis. If not him, my vote goes to Dr. Eleni Zaude Gabre-Madhin.
