Ethiopia - A funeral was held for Ato Teshome Mandefro at the Trinity Cathedral church
Teshome Mandefro Egrete, 56 (shown here in an undated photo), an Ethiopian national working on water-supply projects with UNICEF Afghanistan, was one of the victims of the 28 October attack on a UN guesthouse in Kabul.
A funeral was held for Ato Teshome Mandefro, who was killed in a deadly terrorist attack at the UN guesthouse in the Afghan capital, Kabul, on October 28, at the Trinity Cathedral church in Addis Ababa, in the presence of his family, friends, and colleagues. The UNICEF Afghan representative Catherine Mbengue and the Afghan Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development representative also attended.
The UNICEF and the Afghan Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development representatives were at the church to remember their colleague Teshome who died while working at the UN children's Fund (UNICEF) in Afghanistan.
"We in UNICEF will remember Mr. Teshome for his outstanding contribution, the consistent professionalism he brought in serving the overall objectives of UNICEF for the improvement to the status of women and children in Afghanistan," said Catherine. She extended her deepest condolences to the family and colleagues.
