Ethiopia: Ethiopian Airlines to launch daily non-stop service to Beijing

nazret.com - Ethiopian Airlines said it will introduce daily non-stop services from Addis Ababa to Beijing, China starting 0n May 1, 2011, aboard the newly acquired Boeing 777-200LR.

According to Ethiopian Airlines, the new non-stop flights will shave almost three hours off the current flight time on the route and enable to link Beijing with dozens of countries in Africa via Ethiopian’s hub at Addis Ababa.

According to published route schedule ET Flight 604 will depart Addis Ababa Bole at 12:05 AM local time and arrive at Beijing Capital (PEK) at 3:30 PM, taking a total of 10 hours and 25 minutes.

Ethiopian Airlines currently serve Beijing from Addis Ababa with a stop-over in Delhi.

Ethiopian Airlines Global Sales, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Gobena Mikael said with the daily non-stop service to Beijing , 10 weekly services to Guangzhou, and with 4 and 5 weekly services to Hong Kong and Hangzhou respectively , Ethiopian will be able to offer more links between Africa and China than any other carrier.

With a total of 26 weekly services to China, once again Ethiopian reaffirms its undisputed leading position in connecting Africa and China, he said.

According to him, the route supports the ever-increasing bond between China and Africa in terms of investment as well as tourist traffic.

Ethiopian Airlines has code share agreements with Air China, a Star Alliance member, allowing passengers to have wider choice of services between Asia and Africa.

Under the agreement, the two carriers jointly provide services to and from Addis Ababa – Guangzhou and Addis Ababa- Beijing.

Besides the daily non-stop passenger services, Ethiopian provides cargo charter services to and from China for business people.

In the growing social and economic tie between China and Africa, the role played by Ethiopian to bolster the partnership is immeasurable and of paramount importance for both sides.

Ethiopian Airlines is the first African airline to connect the People’s Democratic Republic of China with Africa, starting with its first flight to Beijing on November 07, 1973.

This is what you call it moving with time and need. Like it or not China is the new superpower. Unless you get in now after 2 years having landing space in Peking is unthinkable. I bet this is another bad news for some morons over here in US.

Wayane empty propaganda simply to justify its existence and avoid the people’s rising wrath. All the incomes and productivities will only strean in to the through corrupt dictor and his wife’s secret bank accounts.

No amount of financial, material and natural resources will ever benefit the people under the corrupt bad governance of a corrupt minority dictator.

Ethiopian experiences of the last 20 years testifies to this fact, where the tiny tplf elites accumulated and still accumulating huge amounts movable and immovable Ethiopian wealth and getting fatter and fatter as year go bye.

The EAL is flying to China regularly in order to conspire and with the Wayane Ambassador currently in chine just like dictator Mengistu was conspiring about his exit strategies with his trusted ambassadors well before he left.

Neftegnaw,

Why is that a bad news here in the US. Do you think Ethiopian here in the US dont want ETA to be successful? Do you think this is a success for Woyana? Ethiopian Airlines have been successful during HIS, Mengestu, and now Woyana BANDA. Woyana has nothing to do with ETA success. So, dont worry no body will be that Stupid to relate ETA success with that of this LEBA govenment. I wonder how the Morone is on this case.
