Ethiopian Political Activists Opposed to Meles Claim Power-Cable Sabotage

Ethiopian political activists opposed to Prime Minister Meles Zenawi’s rule said they sabotaged power lines in the west of the country as part of a campaign against the government.

The Tinsae Ethiopian Patriots Union said it cut electricity cables in Awi Zone on May 20, causing outages in towns including Asosa, 477 kilometers (296 miles) west of Addis Ababa, and Metekel, 400 northwest of the capital. Power still hasn’t been restored in some parts of the region, it said in an e-mailed statement today. The group posted pictures on its website that it said showed the damaged cables.

This is a hard evidence that Ethiopians indeed do have the lowest IQ compare with the rest of the world.

I have seen this at Elias Kifle's child / Ye Tinsh lij website. The guy is losing it by the day. May be his kids are using his password to post such utter child play.

But, the flip side is funny. Imagine taking political power / removing EPRDF by pulling down Ye Mebrat SilkEnchet! World first! I mean, are these people do have a shred of brain in their skull. Seriously hilarious.

Aye Ye Abesha Neger. I wonder why we are 3000 years behind the rest of the world.

We told you, Ethiopians are behind time. Imagine, TPLF and Shabia destroyed every bridge, every electric poles, buses, ... you know where we are today? Our people are going to sell sex on an internaational market? Our people are throwing themselves from high rise buildings?

TPLF landlocked Ethiopia, you know how much Ethiopians paying to Djibouti, Kenya, Sudan, Somalia each year? How much does Ethiopia earn by selling coffee? sesame? Hide? now babies? now girls? now lands? it is about 1.5 billion, but we pay to Kenya, Sudan, Djibouti, Somalia each year about 2 billion dollars. This means EPRDF or TPLF has not benefitted or brought us good by destroying our infrastructures.

Now a repeat again, another TPLF like gilgel called Tinsae Ethiopia has started to destroying power systems? Why? backwardness, primitivity? Recycling the same thing over and over? Wrong is wrong, no matter whether TPLF or OLF, or Ginbot 7 or Tinsae Ethiopia does it? It is wrong. It will totally destroy the country to no return.

Do not do these thing. Only 2% Ethiopians have to an off and on access to electricity now. Destroying that 2% will never do any good.

National disobedience or home sitting is the best way to do. Stop taxis, buses, office work, school,... is the only non-destructive movement. Otherwise, Dem kda dem meles, recycling wrongs things will never help our country.

We hate EPRDF but that does not mean we have to be worse than EPRDF.

We have to be united and say no together. If we unite, it will not take even one day. Imagine, bring the whole Ethiopia into a stanstill one day? and demanding Meles to resign the same way the Egyptian did. Destroying any national asset is crime.

If you do that, I must tell you , you are not better than TPLF. You are just another one with different name.

Only unity, mutual trust based on respect, equality and fraternity can lead us to a prosperous Ethiopia. Otherwise, even if you succeed this way, there will be another group who take arms the same way which means our people keep on bearing the brunt of the vicious endless conflict.

Wrong is wrong, no matter who does it.

Do not cut anything or do not destroy anything. Just stop:

1. Taxis
2. Buses
3. Office work
4. flight
5. sit home sitting silent revolution. This the best way to do it all. This type of national protest will make the cadres, police, federal or special irrelevant. Otherwise, we have to wait another 20 years or more until you remove Meles by armed struggle ? No this is wrong method. Meles is now 56 years old. He can stay another 20 years if your strategy is this.

By carrying out acts of sabotage to disrupt the very need of the Ethiopian people,do they believe this is an alternative action acceptable to achieve the "democracy" they claim they are fighting for? Professor Alemayehu G/Mariam, Doctor Birhanu Nega and a host of other anti-Ethiopia elites in the diaspora have been telling us repeatedly in the past of the need for "actions",among which an action like this one is definately in the back of their minds, to oust the Ethiopian government. This is clearly a sign of frustration and a mere cowardly act which will only backfire on their evil intentions to take political control in Ethiopia.

Ethiopia shall prosper!!

@ To all friend of truth,
Why people destroy the infrastructure of a country?
Because the gouvernment don't want to hear their call and frustration.
In addition don't forget that it is the gouvernment constant refusal
to have peace with all ETHIOPIAN.
Do anyone remember what the WOYANNE said 20 years ago,if you don't remember it. This was it.
"If someone want to take power from us, they must go to mountain and do what we have done."
My compatriot, if this group do what WOYANNE have done, don't condemn them. Instead ask Woyanne gouv.for reconcilation with all opposition before it burnt the whole contry.

In the last 20 years we have seen some desperate sluggards disguised as "reporters" actually hit squads come and gone in and out of Ethiopia. Thank God without halting Ethiopia's progress.

At the beginning it was the unscrupulous BBC reporter by the name of Alex Last sent by the now disgraced Africa BBC editor Martin Plaut. And then it was AP's Anthony Mitchell time, until his time came.

Enter Bloomberg news: There appears a pathological liar in the person of Jason McLure from the middle of nowhere to advance the smear campaign against Ethiopia into its crudest form. He too vanishes into oblivion.

Now days the hit squads don't even bother to set boots on the ground. They are gladly "doing their jobs" laundering nefarious gossips in the name of free press from far away forts in South Africa and criminal infested Nairobi.

Paul Richardson may the day come where your lies are laid bare.

The country is cursed when it gave birth to people like in your group. If you were man enough, you should have declared your intention and confront the government army instead of destroying infrustructure that stays there for generations regardless of the current government stays or goes. So, please stop bragging as if you won a battle. You are acting as a bunch of idiots!!!
Grow up and do that wins the minds and hearts of the people. The country had seen more of that kind in the past and the people can't afford to go through that destructive path again.

These things are bound to happen sooner or later in a dictatorship. Reform the political system now. Allow genuine multiparty system. I do not advocate for the immediate and violent overthrow of the tplf government, but the emergence of strong opposition parties is critical. When Meles thought Medrek was doing good a few days before the election, he said he was going to charge them with crime as soon as the election was over. When he made sure he got 99.6 he said he was not going to imprison them. If they broke the law why is it meles who decides on their fate? Thats why a lot of people say there is no rule of law in that country.

political organizations which sought political power have used different tactics to sabotage governments efforts, but cutting a power line was unheard of. There was a reason for that. The disruption of electric power might make the miserable lives of Ethiopians more desperate, but the government could be not less threating as the result. Those who used armed struggle as a means to gain power have demolished bridges before. That at least had defensible explanation: to stop the government troops movement, to disrupt resupply to the army, to divide the large army in group so attacking them separately became fruitful. The cutting power could be understood only in one way. Those who did it wanted to be in the news. Their presence probably was not acknowledged by the goveernment, and they problly were mad at not having recognized. So they declared war on the populace in the name of fighting the regime. Way to go guys.

Now the beggars are lecturing us it is not ok to collaborate with Eritreans/Shabia or anyone else unless they ( goons) approve whom the oppositions have to work with & no opposition/LF have the right to tear-down a single hut on its way to liberating Ethiopia!

Destroying a public asset is an absolute idiocy, I have no other words to describe it. This incident was an example of an act of hooliganism conducted by opposition movement to destroying a good idea by implementing it for political ends.

Incompetent and fear mongers opposition movement surrounded by high school dropouts have long been living in a dream world. The fact that their popularity ratings are dropping does not seem to bother them. For better future our country needs constructive and matured opposition party not street hooligans.

Oppositions are not willing to learn from their past mistakes. Do not celebrate emotional tactical win, soon, EPRDF will give you the rope to hang yourself as you have done it in the past.

Stupid/ Idiot opposition: Do not you know or remember the fact that EPRDF is a like sleeping tiger who know’s when/how to strike???

I do not support violence. But I think Ethiopians now have no choice while the country is on sale. There is no point to watch helplessly while the country on sale on broad-day light.

We are desperate to save our country from Arab and Indian occupation. Keeping quiet while the country is practically on sale is not good.

Please do the followings:
1. Cut more power lines
2. Cut the useless Telecom in addis,
3. Blow the Ethiopian Power authority
4. Blow the Ethiopian Telecom, it is better to run like the Somalians,
5. Blow Meles's office, this should be actually target number one

5. Cut power line to major factories, govenment offices, it is actuall better to target govenment office power lines than public. The public main get angry and become counter productive.
6. Cut the water system to, is there water system in Ethiopia? If there is cut the water then, no food, no water, no electriicity, no telecom, the people will rise up for change. Otherwis, there is now way you can stop the hodams because they feel it.

We are tired now. Yefkukr bet sayzega yaderal yibalal,... ewnetm, yfukur bet mefsresu aykerm. Beka Revolution requests UN to strike by aid raid like Libya? I read this at Ethiopian review.

I hate EPRDF, I will never any NGO or UN or any foreign govermment to interfere in the affaires of my country. I am doing that, it may mean I do not know what I wish for my country.

If G7, olf, ONFL,... are united why they do not dissolve thier olf, onfl, g7, ... and form one united genuine and all inclusive party? They could not even set up a unified party now, how are they going to rule Ethiopia after removing EPRDF?

Yes, we hate EPRDF, but we must an organisation that unites us all, ... not under OLF, onlf, g7,... what is the difference between olf, ONLF, TPLF,? can any tell me the difference? This is not a good marriage to be honest. This is a marriage destined not only for divorce, but for the complete destruction of Ethiopia. OLF, ONLF,... who believe Ethiopia is a colonizer? TPLF also believes Ethiopia is a colonizer and it imported Latin for that reason?

The marriage of OLF, ONFL, G7,... is not good. Why the Prof. did not take office in 2005 instead of going to Kalti for 2 years? Does the Prof. believe he has made a mistake then?

I do support for peaceful removal of EPRDF, but not by this type of loose coalition which put Ethiopia into the wrong hand of fictious nationalists who believe Ethiopian history is fake? No ways, guys, if you wana bring change in Ethiopia, you have to do it ideology than by violence. If you come with new and convincing ideology, the people can leave EPRDF in one day. But with type of ideology of copy , cut and paste from Libya and asking USA, UN,... to strike Ethiopia ? this is sham politics which will not help us to get anywhere but may put us another endless bloodshed.

I have read the whole one page declaration. What is that? is this written by revolutionist? where is the plan? where is the formulation, solution, strategic implementation to all the problems? Nothing, no plan, no structure, no formulation, no solution? What is revolution then? hoo hooo, gurtew, gidelew, nifaw, belew,.... aye aye, aye, aye politics.

This is yeeka ka cheweta. If it is done this way, we have other people who will come and spend another 20 years sitting arat kilo and nothing done, like TPLF?

The revolution also opposes the sam building? Opposing the dam is like shooting oneself on the head? I swear. If you oppose the dam, I do not know what you give to the Ethiopian people.

I wanted good change and I wanted Meles to go away, but I wanted a better person who can help the country with good faith. Otherwise, if you tell me you are asking to UN, UK, USA,... to attack my country for you to get power? That is damn, damn ,...

Kikikiki, it is so comical that the hater looter secessionists who began their rebellion by robbing Axum bank are today crying about this and that law broken etc.

Dear cyber cadres, this is a tiny tiny thing compared to what awaits you in the future. We have seen it during Imperial times. I clearly remeber Meskel 1973. The President of India then, Mohargi Desai was in town as is their Prime Minister now. Huge tents set up at Meskel square. The Emperor sitting on the throne with the Indian President and wife besides him. I was there sitting on the floor infront of them with a dozen or so kids. Ya hulu kubur zebegna singaga. Thousands upon thousands passing bye singing "Eyoha abebayae meskerem ttebayae." Let alone the security and soldiers, the government officials and aristocracy were in the hundreds. Some huge name Ethiopian patriots, with twisted faces and burnt out skins, were there, patriots from the Italian occupation. That was September, five months later the cabinet cut and run, six month later the 3,000 years monarchy was no more. But for one who saw that September day, let alone Haile Sellasie, he will think ten generations of his offsprings will be in power. But one day, the people said no more, the taxi drivers said no more, the street kids broke the windows of buses. The soldiers mutinied. The students refused to go to school. The serfs rioted. It was over. Its the same story with Derg. I have met face to face with one of the top five evils of that regime, Getachew Shibeshi. It is so amazing all the gura and trash we hear from the cyber cadres now, its exactly word to word what came out of his mouth. I was only 15 in jail then. We all took all of the abuse. We heard his gura, the past is gone forever, the people are now in power, the revolution will last for a thousand years, the same yadi yada. But where is he now? Rotting at the bottom of the Hawasa river. My dear cyber cadres, you will not even get a chance for that. You will not even get a chance to regurgitate what you stole and get a one way ticket to your village as you did to the Eritreans. Why? This ethnic poison that you introduced nurtured and fed for twenty years now. You will be thorn into pieces. Not a single part of you will remain. Where their is tyranny, their will be resistance. The Ethiopian people, no matter how much you divide them, no matter how much you dehumanize them, no matter how much you spit on them, in the end the bitter end, will rise as a single person, even OLF and ONLF have understood that now, let alone the core of the country.

Ato Lekim, don't you think twenty years is more than enough to bring down one statue? Who is stopping you? Please go ahead, it will be the last straw./
