Kenya beats Ethiopia 2-0 in Cecafa Cup

Kenya revive Cecafa Cup hopes after beating Ethiopia

Kenya kept their hopes of playing in the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup quarter-finals alive after beating Ethiopia 2-0 in Tanzania on Wednesday.

They now have three points after losing their first game to Malawi.

Bob Mugalia opened the scoring after 12 minutes and Yusuph Juma sealed the score on stroke of half-time.

The game was played amid a heavy downpour, which denied the Ethiopians an opportunity to play their free-flowing passing game.

Before you all go ripping and wailing on our national team note that before todays loss against Kenya, our 5 previous match results were:
Ethiopia 1 Sudan 1
Ethiopia 5 Somalia 0
Ethiopia 0 Somalia 0
Ethiopia 4 Madagascar 2
Ethiopia 0 Malawi 0

Thats right folks. The Ethiopian National Team just went 5 games in a row unbeaten scoring 10 goals conceding 3. For a team like ours this is very good and will improve our FIFA ranking.

But nazret.com would never take the time to post an article on our national team progress, no too busy posting garbage trash from Ar Marea.

The heavy rain had a big influence on a passing game likeEthiopians used to play.
Well, that is how sport is. You loose some you win some. There is always another game. Untill next time...

This is not a news at all. I don't expect any body to be surprised.

Even a country without a govenment called Somalia drew with Ethiopia.

Somalia 0=0 Ethiopia!!!

The only time I would be surprised is when Ethiopia beats any serious country which is impossible.

"The game was played amid a heavy downpour, which denied the Ethiopians an opportunity to play their free-flowing passing game".

So they say!! "Tebale ende"!!!

Losers' excuse never ends. Before and before it was bad luck. Now it is rain coming down in buckets (heavy downpour) that brought Ethiopia's defeat. If downpour was an impediment to the Ethiopian team, how come it is not to the Kenyan team?

This is garbage talk of losers. A phrase like, "denial of free-flowing passing game" does not take us any where. Lets call a spade a spade and move forward. We do not want to hear "Yatta werre".

Writer, please stop shaming us again. One is more than enough!!!

Ayee. ethiopia Foot ball team . By the way, why not feed these skinny short teams in one of oxfam or red cross feeding centre so that the food they eat there may give them a strength so that they maybe can play foot ball. Otherwise, they all look like a starved weyanne army from Mekele waiting for some miracle to happen to win a foot ball.

Yeah!
It is no much of a news at all. After struggling to beat Somalia, now blaming rain for being deafted at the hands of Kenya team?

It is a big joke. There is one critical area which has to be addressed. Ethiopia has never attracted any attention concerning soccer.
I know that this idea may provove lost of people. But lets come to the reality. It may be devisive, but that is the true.

When it comes to athletics, Ethiopia is one of the top names to be mentioned. Who are these runners? Most of them come from certain ethnic group! They are proven to be effcetive time and again.
On the other hand, Ethiopian soccer is dominated by certain Ethnic group, and the result is dismal!

With proper training, the ethnic group which is effective in athletics, can be as effcetive in soccer. Open your eyes, Ethiopia should not accept continuous failure in soccer!!And we will not reach any where unless the fundamental causes are addressed. Complete C- change has to take place on how to recruit players!!

I haven't seen such a stupid dick head guy like you. Always complaining and negating any news! You must be from the shabiaa group or some kind of a mentally sick, virgin head, and moron or may be more………. at least try to comment based on the article and differentiate politics, sport, development ……………. “The one who habitually complains may belong to one of several groups: first, biological weaklings whose ancestors were badly chosen; second (and this group includes some of the first), those who have been badly trained, whose reflexes have not been conditioned to life in an inhabited world; third, those from whom illness or calamity has removed the sense of responsibility (another phase of the conditioned reflex). There is no better example of the conditioned reflex than the training of a dog.” Read PEOPLE WHO ARE ALWAYS COMPLAINING BY A. H. GORDON

The National Sport of every country in theworlD Soccer is the world's most popular sport, and for good reason. Soccer actually require physical skill and mental toughness It involves speed, strength, skill practice and dedication. BUT WHEN YOU CAME TO THE ETHIOPIAN SOCCER PLAYERS THEY ARE badly damage THERE knee, legs, ankles, etc BEFORE THEY START THE GAME.
If you've never played it and you're bashing it anyway, and try to do anything close to what the professionals can do. It's harder than it looks, jackass. The first and most popular sport in the world Unlikelame IN ETHIOPIA.THIS IS ASHEMED!!!! when a girl can do something .
The most famous sport in the world , 2 teams of 11 players each using any part of the body except the hands and the arms to put a ball into the net .
Players needs to be very skillful: dribbling ,accurate passing ,tackling ,heading and ball control .

I really like our team. They're making some improvement.
On Friday they played a great game against Malawi "the best team BTW" and equalized 1-1.
They could have won this match if it wasn't for the referee who awarded unfair penality kick to Malawi against omud. the commentators even said that penality should've been awarded to the Ethiopians, because the Malawi player was at fault trpping and fouling our guy Omud. Malawi scored their only goal on that penality kick and equalized.
Our only goal by Adane was a GEM. What we used to call ZAFINA QORACHU, on a penality kick.

Short skinny boys of highlander Ethiopians again lost the game as always. Other than running soccer is not the best we can do.

I said before don't call these highlander soccer Ethiopians. The African strong bodies players are not to be competed against by the skinny boys.

It is sad I am part of that ethnic group.

What? Shame on you! The one who gave excuse of the rain to lose Ethiopia 2 – 0. Congratulation, it was rainy only on Ethiopian field, or what ever. Please let us admit Ethiopia lost by Kenyan team 2 - 0. Ethiopia should bring foreign soccer players to play in Addis Ababa Stadium. Let the people enjoy foot ball rather looking these football player entertaining other countries people and their team. I think in these days any team will count Ethiopian Football team similar with honey. By the way in Ethiopia these football players are getting paid more than ever before comparing with the life standard living of Ethiopia. The country should register in FIFA’s 100 list.
