The outgoing president of African Journalists for Renaissance, Hon. Dr. Moha Dahir Farah, appreciated Ethiopia’s tremendous efforts in realizing freedom to journalists and the media.

In her exclusive interview with WIC, Dr. Moha appreciated the government’s openness to work closely with the media in order to maximize media’s contribution towards strengthening democracy, good governance and development.

“What some media are reporting about Ethiopia is quite different from the reality in the country; Dr. Moha said, adding that Ethiopia is a peaceful, respectful and developing country where encouraging and hopeful changes have been taking place.”

I appreciate Mr.Kristof's interest and the effort he has taken to confront the dictator on behalf of the Swedish journalist's wife, but where has he been? Did he happen to realize Meles's brutality in Davos? Are those journalists the first victims of the tribal politics in Ethiopia? Oh, No! Meles has tortured and murdered unknown numbers of Ethiopians including journalists since the 80s. I am sure Mr.Kirstof knew this fact. But, he never cared. When Eskinder Nega was thrown behind bars for practicing his constitutional right, Mr.Kirstof was busy ignoring Joseph Kabila's robbery of the recent Congo Kinshasa's election since the policies of the person who has actually won the peoples vote was unacceptable for the western interest groups that have been pillaging the country's resources. He was also a no show when Meles has murdered hundreds of Ethiopians in the post 2005 election, when he has used American made equipments to terrorize the people and incarcerated elected officials for months. However, when two white journalists arrested, charged, tried and sentenced to prison terms for violating the country's law such as crossing a boarder without proper visa, Mr.Kirstof felt so brave and courageous that he decided to confront the dictator for a duel, lol.
