Your comment caught my attention.Have ever thought through that when people revolt against their government, that they are oppressed in one way or another? You see in the countries you mentioned the rule of one man or oligarchy was the rule and the people do not have a say as to how they should be governed. Fake elections were conducted where the rules favoured the ruling class or party to succeed. Under such circumstances people revolt and demand change and the reality of such demand is met with violence and force by the ruling elites. Gadaffi, Mubarack , etc resorted to violence instead of listening to the people's demand and bring about the needed reforms. Their might did not save them and they were the source of all destructions. So if in Ethiopia people ask the regime to change/reform the land lease law, the terror law, charity laws,etc,.. which are undemocratic and stifle decent and rights; it is clever move to listen to the people and implement the necessary reforms. To do otherwise leads to frustration and more resistance from the people. If you think it through again, a government is there to serve the people according to will of the people and not the other way around.

There is a good news however, if this is true, it shows that our government has developed the technological capacity to shutdown venomous broadcasts which spread hate and prejudice in the region.

The countrys telecommunications Minister, Mr. Nicolas Sehnaoui, yesterday thrown his accusations at the increasingly totalitarian government of Ethiopia after results from the preliminary investigations into the jamming of Arabsat satellite transmission confirms Ethiopia as the source of the jamming signal.

Satellite network companies Arabsat and Nilesat are under considerable pressure from respective governments and TV operators to force the reclusive Ethiopian government to stop either its signal interference practices or suspend its lone state-owned television channel indefinitely from their networks.

This jamming is more than lightly cellphone network Microwave frequencies being too close to the satellite frequency. We had exactly the same problem a few years back where I work. When mobile operators came on line they transmitted very near other networks such as V-sat and TV Sat transmissions. The ITU can resolve this issue, the Chinese operator for Ethiopian Telecom need to investigate this and a simple adjustment to their transmitting frequency will sort the issue. I doubt very much ET are purposely jamming.

The next move by the "panicking TPLFites" is to jam their own family mouth.
