Quran 8:23 says: “Had Allah known of any good in them He would have made them hear, but had He made them hear they would have turned away, averse.” The Muslim Allah, according to this verse is not an omniscient God; if he were, Quran 8:23 couldn’t have said “Had Allah known any good in them….” We already know the Muslim Allah is the moon-god Allah, not a real God.

Quran 8:23 is supported by Quran 8:55 that say the same thing: “Lo! the worst of beasts in Allah's sight are the ungrateful who will not believe.” The people who do not believe that Muhammad is the last prophet of God and that the Quran is a revealed book are the Christians, the Jews, and the other non-Muslims; therefore, the prophet Muhammad calls them “the worst of beasts.”

In Quran Chapter 8, we find the following offensive verses:

1. “And those who disbelieve will be gathered unto hell” (Quran 8:36)

2. “And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is all for Allah” (Quran 8:39).

3. “And know that whatever ye take as spoils of war, lo! a fifth thereof is for Allah, and for the messenger and for the kinsman…” (Quran 8:41).

4. “O Prophet! Exhort the believers to fight. If there be of you twenty steadfast they shall overcome two hundred, and if there be of you a hundred (steadfast) they shall overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they (the disbelievers) are a folk without intelligence” (Quran 8:65).

5. “It is not for any prophet to have captives until he hath made slaughter in the land” (8:67).

Mr. Moyale, how come you forget to tell us those satanic verses with an authentic explanation? Has Dr. Zakir Naik, your second Muslim Muhammad, failed you to teach you the exact meanings of those Quranic verses? Some of the good verses in Quran are the ones that Muhammad the prophet had plagiarized from the Christian Old and the New Testaments.

I know why you are not going to ask someone about those verses you cannot understand because Quran 5:101 says: “Believers! I went to Mecca for a vacation, and I could not find any Church where I could go and pray to my Lord Jesus Christ. Why is that there is no a single Church in Mecca? In Tigray province there are many Mosques. Some of these Mosques may not be closer to where you live. If it is too far to go to those Mosques, then you could pray in your house five or hundred times a day. But I am not sure whether your Allah could hear your prayer when you pray in your house. You better ask your Imam of those Mosques.

Let me give a few pointers!

1. God is a sovereign God and CAN do anything including the taking of lives; In so doing he can use people to deliver the judgement. In the Old Testament you see such incidents. (You cannot dictate to Him on how to be God!)

2. Since 2000 years ago, according to the Bible we are in a Grace Period where God doesn't exercise immediate judgement against offenders but differs it to the time of judgement at the very end. (Example: for a limited time, IRS forgiving your debt as long as you file taxes, something like that.)

3. In this time of Grace, Jesus message is about love and mercy. That is why He allowed others to crucify him and never revenged, and in fact prayed for his abusers.

4. During this time of Grace, anyone can come and ask for forgiveness and start to follow Jesus, whereby the Jesus' righteousness will be imputed on that person, and will declared just.

5. But one day, Jesus will come back and deliver justice Himself.

6. Many are confused when people or groups commit horrible acts in the name of Christianity. These people certainly didn't get their mandate from Jesus Christ, that is for sure.
These people actually don't know Jesus Christ! (example: crusaders, Bush invading Iraq, etc...)
(Example: continuing the IRS tax forgiveness example, some companies/groups posing as IRS and extorting money from individuals who owe money. But in reality they owe no taxes, etc)

7. Jesus never committed an act of terror or violence or instructed anyone to use violence or apply force to convert people, much less take lives. In fact Jesus instructed to overcome evil with good. Luke 10: 10-15
Jesus says that entire cities will be violently destroyed and the inhabitants "thrust down to hell" for not "receiving" his disciples.

John 3:18, 36
People are damned or saved depending only on what they believe.
John 15:6
Those who do not believe in Jesus will be cast into a fire to be burned.

Matthew 11:20-24
Jesus condemns entire cities to dreadful deaths and to the eternal torment of hell because they didn't care for his preaching.

Let me try to tackle some of your thought provoking questions from the "infidel's" point of view.

I think that question itself will answer most of your questions regarding "liberal" and "moderate" for both religions. Liberal and moderate sound like good terms but I will tell you why they are loaded with contradictions.
If you are a religious liberal or moderate, it means you are picking and dropping scripture. In one hand, you believe the books are words of god, but on the other had you gloss over or discard the parts you don't like.
For the bible, it could be things like "stone your child for cursing" for the Qur'an, it could be something about spreading the word by the sword. A liberal or moderate will try to justify those parts by redefining them according to his taste or saying something like those were rules for 2000 years ago.
That is a theological dilemma. It leads to retranslation of the "word of God" that y'all all agreed upon.
If you're an extremist, you take those words literally. You believe the words are unmutable. Then you get the Taliban, Al Shahab, Sharia law and etc. On the other side, you get the fundamental right. I give props to the extremists for at least not being duplicitous. They believe it is a word of god and they follow it to the letter.

The best we have reached in the west is religious tolerance (at least the US).

I am with you in this crucial question: Which religion is violent and which one is peaceful? Are Judaism, Christianity, and Islam have ever taught their adherents to go to war and destroy other human lives and possess the lands of their enemies by force? The short answer is yes!

Judaism:

Moses fought the Egyptians by performing ten Miracles: the tenth one was the severest miracle that destroyed many lives: “At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the first born of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well. Pharaoh and all his officials and all the Egyptians got up during the night, and there was loud wailing in Egypt, for there was not a house without someone dead” (Exodus).

After Moses and his brother Aaron performed wonders, they left Egypt and God promised them he would put seven nations under their control – the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. God told Moses to destroy these seven nations completely. He was also told not to make any treaty with them and never to show them mercy (Deuteronomy 7:1-2).

After Moses’ death, Joshua continued the fight under the direction of God: “Then, the Lord said to Joshua, ‘See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. March around the city once with all the armed men.” Following God’s order, Joshua destroyed Jericho completely except Rehab and her family (Joshua 6:1-27). Rehab was saved because she had helped Joshua’s spies who came to Jericho to learn the strength and weakness of the citizens of Jericho (Joshua 2).

Judaism never stopped the Jews from fighting their enemies until the present day. I hope you remember the Arab-Israeli war that happened in 1967, which is called the Six-Day War. The Jews are still in war with those Arab countries that refused to recognize the state of Israel as an independent nation.

Christianity:

The same thing like Judaism, Christianity never deterred the Christians from waging war against those who did not accept Christianity. The main difference between the Christian war and the Jews’ war is that the old Jews’ war was directed under the war strategist, Yahweh, the God of Israel. The Christian war was performed under the leadership of the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, the most powerful Church in the old days as well as in our time.

When we think of the Christians’ war, what comes to our memory is, first, the Crusade that was fought hard by the Christians to liberate Jerusalem from the Muslims’ control. The second one is the Christian Inquisitions that destroyed many lives in the name of religion. The Inquisitions were performed by the Catholic Church against those who refused to accept Christianity and against those whom the Church considered heretics. Many people were burned alive and some, especially the Jews, were sent into exile.

I am sure, the Catholic Church might have regretted about her past dark history and apologized, particularly, to the Jews who had been persecuted severely by the Catholic Church. Since then, the Catholic Church had never acted as a violent Church except when she blessed the Fascist army to invade the Christian land of Ethiopia.

Islam:

The unforgettable and the unnecessary war waged by Muhammad the prophet was the war against the Jewish tribes who lived in Yathrib (Medina) and those who lived a little bit farther from Yathrib. As Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland (1976, pp.
100-107) reported that Muhammad had ordered that “…the grown-up males should be put to death and the women and children subjected to slavery. Consequently, trenches were dug in the market-place in Medina, and the men of Qurayza were brought out in groups and their necks were struck.6 Estimates of those killed vary from 400 to 900.”

Starting from Muhammad the prophet to the Ottoman Empire and to this day, Muslims have never stopped killing the non-Muslims. There is a reason for that. Most Muslims think, one day, the entire world will be under the Muslims’ domination. Till that day materializes, it is a Muslim duty to wage Jihad and to conquer the whole earth and make Sharia the law of the world.

Christians and Jews do not have such ambitions: we don’t see Jews stoning an adulterous woman to death; neither do we see them using the Old Testament rule that says, “Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot…” (Exodus 21:24). However, we see the Muslims cutting off the hands of a thief, flogging one hundred times an adulterous man, and stoning to death an adulterous woman. The shocking think here is that the man who committed the same crime as the adulterous woman was sent free with just one hundred lashes, but the woman was sentenced to death.

Christians and Jews are no more using the harsh rule used in the old days; nevertheless, Muslims have refused to modify their religion as far as their barbaric Sharia law is concerned. At present, Islam is not a religion of peace, and it had never been.

You may ask why God ordered Moses and Joshua to destroy so many people and to possess their lands. This is a valid question. And the answer for this question is very simple.

As reported by the prophet Malachi, God has said: “Yet I have loved Jacob, but Esau I have hated, and I have turned his mountains into a wasteland and left his inheritance to the desert jackals” (Malachi 1-2-3). Is there anything wrong that Esau had done? I don’ think so. Let us find the exact answer for those questions. St. Paul says: “But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, 'why did you make me like this?’” (Romans 9:26). Therefore, we cannot ask God why he ordered Moses and Aaron to destroy and burn other people’s towns and cities. We cannot ask God why he hated Esau and loved Jacob.

My friend, it is sad that we cannot live together in peace because of Islam’s old baggage that says, “If you leave Islam, you will be killed” (Quran 4:9). In Christianity and Judaism people are free to leave their religions if they want to, but in Islam you are a prisoner and live under fear for the rest of your life. Forget about the unfairness of Islam toward women when it comes to inheritance and equality.

1. I fight ignorance wherever I can. I live in a country where I can speak my mind. Thank God for that I argue, I write, call spades a spade and ask tough questions of theists. I delay court proceedings because I can't be sworn in on any book.
2. I use the legal system to my full advantage: you want to have a prayer in public schools? You want to display your religious paraphernalia on public grounds? Your spire or mosque blocks my view or sun-light? Your mosque is noise polluting? You want to legislate religious based laws like abortion? I would be the first to sue you. I feed a lot of hungry lawyers this way. For example, if a history teacher in a public school said, the point we are arguing i.e "Islam is more violent than Christianity" - I would sue him out of existence. That is preaching. I salivate just thinking about such an opportunity.
3. Keep your religion away from my kids. This is the biggest problem. We were all brainwashed as kids. We were born Christians or Muslims. Think about it. It's not like you read the books and chose the most logical one. Once you brainwash a child, it takes a lot of work to get it back.
4. Keep state and religion separate.
5. Keep your religion private. You want to use it as my 2 year old uses his blankie, fine by me. Just don't start any argument, saying "the blankie dictates …"

I'm not trying to persuade anybody here.
I know it's easier to herd cats than to talk logic with a theist.

Jesus and Mary Magdalene

No person in his right mind marries a woman possessed by evil spirits, and such a woman was Mary Magdalene. One of Jesus’ ministries was to heal the sick, to open the eyes of the blind, and to drive out the bad spirits from those possessed by them. Jesus Christ drove out seven bad spirits/Demons from Mary Magdalene (Luke 8:1-3). From that time on, Mary Magdalene joined the other women who followed Jesus Christ in providing Jesus’ material needs from their own resources.

When Jesus was crucified, standing at a distance, there were many women saddened by the sufferings of Jesus on the Cross, and Mary Magdalene was one of theses women (Mark 15:40; Matthew 27:56). In fact, the Apostle John testifies: “Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple (John) whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, ‘Dear woman, here is your son,’ and to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother” (John 19:25-26).

According to the Gospel of John, Jesus pleaded with John to take care of Mary, the mother of Jesus. Jesus didn’t say to John: “Take care of Mary Magdalene, my wife.” If Mary Magdalene had indeed been the wife of Jesus, Jesus would have told John to take care of Mary Magdalene, too. We should remember also that the disciple whom Jesus loved was the apostle John, not Mary Magdalene.

After Jesus died on the Cross and was buried somewhere, Mary Magdalene was one of the women, desperately searching to find out where Jesus was buried (Mark 15:47), and when she and the other women found out where Jesus was buried, she and the other women sat for a while opposite Jesus’ Grave (Matthew 27:61).

Having known precisely where Jesus was buried, Mary Magdalene and her companions left the grave and went to their homes and rested for the Sabbath. After the Sabbath was over they came back to Jesus’ grave (Matthew 28:1). This time they brought with them some spices they had bought from the market so that they could anoint his body as the Jewish custom required (Mark 16:1).

Mary Magdalene was the first eyewitness to announce to the other disciples that the stones on Jesus’ grave were taken away and that Jesus Christ had appeared to her and that he had risen from the dead (John 20:1; Mark 16:9). Mary Magdalene had, indeed, brought good news to the other depressed disciples when she said to them: “I have seen the Lord” (John 20:18).

All the Four Gospels had recorded accurately Mary Magdalene services to Jesus’ ministries, and none of them had said anything that Mary Magdalene was the wife of Jesus Christ.

What does it take for a man to have a wife? The man must have a steady job, must have a home, and must have some money in the bank. Jesus had none of these things: he never had a steady job; he never had his own home; in fact, when someone asked him to follow him, Jesus said: “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head” (Matthew 8:20). Jesus never had money in the bank or in his pocket. He was poor. When he was asked to pay taxes to the government, this is what he said to Peter: “…go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours” (Matthew 17:27). Jesus was always on the move, and he had no time to flirt with Mary Magdalene or with the other women. Jesus could have make plenty of money if he had charged his patients he had cured from their various critical illnesses, but he never charged any one of them; He simply would say to them: “…Come! Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life” (Revelation 22:17).

However, some indolent and addle-pated persons, such as Karen King who claimed she had recently discovered a fragmented papyrus that mentioned Jesus had a wife, distort the fact that Jesus had never had a wife according to the Four Gospels writers. Jesus never had any love affairs with any one of those women who followed him throughout his divine ministry. The papyrus doesn’t mention Mary Magdalene: it simply says “Mary,” and its authenticity has not yet been proven. It is just a speculation, and in the past there were many agnostics who speculated that Jesus had a wife, but they had failed to prove their apocryphal books. Therefore, we should not be fooled by the enemies of Christianity and be misguided by their faulty analysis of Jesus’ earthly life – a sinless life, a faultless life, and a life that ended on the Cross to save us from our transgressions and a life that came back again, defeating death and proclaiming salvation to all of us who believe in Jesus Christ, our Savior and our Redeemer.

As I watched the vice presidential debate last night I noticed how Americans like to debate but at times they miss the skill that yo possess in debating me. Most of the things that you address against Islam have been fiercely defended by Muslim scholars. These were found to be fruitless but at the same time they were found to be also very disturbing for the niave and novice to religion of Islam. As you know both Muslims and Christians of Ethiopia possessed a great authentic religion that no other civilization had been able to get a chance to. However, many Muslims and orthodox are now flocking to the young reformed religion of pentes. It is sad to see that such phenomenon is now common everywhere. When I came to this website I learned however that there are deep hate for Islam and Muslims and it was one of you. I hope by now you have realized that Islam got defenders. This is the nature of Muslim loving Ethiopians.

I saw that you never pass any single comment without being addressed. If I found you in my Muslim country I would have treated you nice and I would have asked you why you hate Muslims and why you love jesus deeply and christians in general and jews in particular. I would have challenged you that jews wer the ones who killed the one person you love Jeus most and yet they are the only ones who hate him the most. Muslims love jesus as much if not more than christians do. So I would have asked you how you lived with such contradiction and how it can give you peace of mind.

I am glad you watched the fiery debate between Joe Biden and Paul Ryan: they both tried hard to empress the public, and one of them did. Who do you think it was? It was the young debater who had never debated before in front of such a big crowd, and that person was Paul Ryan. He was very respectful to the old man, Joe Biden. Joe Biden, as a mean, aggressive, and superficial person, worked hard to intimidate the young Paul Ryan, but he failed to do so, and, sometimes, he didn’t know what he was talking about. He simply would say “bunch of staff” instead of telling us what that bunch of staff was; therefore, Joe Biden has failed in showing us his debating skills, but he has succeeded in showing us his artificial smiling teeth. To my judgment, last night’s debate would help the Republicans and hurt the Democrats.

Gragn Ahmed, the old Ethiopian Muslims had been good Ethiopians, but the young ones are brainwashed by the Saudi Wahhabis; therefore, they don’t have any respect to the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church; I really don’t hate Muslims: the only thing I hate is Islam, a very violent religion. Don’t you see what is going on in Nigeria and in the old city, Timbuktu, in the name of Islam? Don’t you see what happened to the 14-year-old Indian girl who encouraged other girls to go to school?

I like the Jews because Jesus Christ was a Jew, and all the Patriarchs and the prophets were Jews: only one Jew killed Jesus Christ, and not all the other Jews participated in the killing of the Lord Jesus. There are many Jews who like Jesus Christ, for example, the Messianic Jews. Also, there is a strong relationship between the Jews and the Ethiopians. We have the Jewish culture in most of the things we do in Ethiopia, especially in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church.

My problem with the Muslims is they don’t accept Jesus as a God: they simply give him a second status to Muhammad the prophet. Jesus is greater than any other prophets who were sent by God to us.

Even though you are a Muslim who has been defending Islam not the type of Islam the ancient Ethiopian Muslims used to have but the young Muslim generation Islam, I always respect you as a human being, and I will never consider you an enemy of Assta B. Gettu. You have your own views about Islam and Christianity, and I have my own views about the two religions.

A very interesting analysis of the debate between Joe Biden and Paul Ryan:


“SAN DIEGO, October 12, 2012 — Much is being made of Joe Biden’s laughter, smiles, and constant interrupting during the debate with GOP Vice-Presidential nominee Congressman Paul Ryan. There was plenty to smile about. Nuclear missiles in the hands of Iran can be pretty funny stuff. And when intelligence reports contradict the Obama narrative about four dead Americans in Libya, the conversation becomes downright hysterical!
Yes, without a doubt, Biden came across ruder than an eccentric uncle who dominates your dinner table conversation once a year during those obligatory family Thanksgivings. We witnessed an absolute outrage last night but we must be careful not to quickly dismiss our Vice-President as a man coming unhinged. Contrary to the conventional wisdom, Biden did not lose control of himself. Instead, he offered a cold, calculated performance. It worked, even though personal popularity may have been a casualty. Although many were turned off by Biden’s gestures and expressions, that alone doesn’t hand the trophy to Congressman Ryan. A debate is won or lost on substance. It is not fair to say Biden lost the debate simply because people were irritated by his demeanor.
On the other hand, if people were unable to follow Ryan’s points due to the distraction of Uncle Joe’s arrogant smiles and canned laughter, we can certainly call a foul. Bad manners alone may not disqualify an opponent, but when such manners violate debate rules, that is another matter altogether.
Unfortunately, the “keeper of the rules” ABC News correspondent, Martha Raddatz broke etiquette herself by also interrupting Ryan. It usually happened when Ryan was about to respond to one of Biden’s accusations. Before Ryan could defend himself, Raddatz, by an incredible coincidence, decided it was time to move on to a new subject.
Where as Biden’s obvious marching orders were to regain the control Obama lost last week with Romney, Raddatz apparently had an agenda of her own. She decided to take better charge than previous moderator, Jim Leher. Ironically, when Leher lost control, we accidentally witnessed something closer to a real debate. Romney and Obama had plenty of time to speak and respond to each other without being sidetracked by a three-way argument with their moderator.
Americans need to see that kind of exchange more often. The candidates alone should be deciding what to question each other about. A moderator is there to make sure both opponents stay within their time frame and not interrupt each other. Raddatz accomplished neither. For that reason, we did not witness a real debate. The evening was not supposed to be about Martha Raddatz. It was not her place to participate in the debate by sparring with the candidates under the guise of asking “objective questions” such as “Now, we’ve reached the recruiting goal for Afghan forces, we’ve degraded Al Qaida. So tell me, why not leave now? What more can we really accomplish? Is it worth more American lives?”
While Raddatz’s own behavior left much to be desired, she was also the enabler for Biden’s abuse. A real moderator would not have allowed him to interrupt. Laughing or making other weird gestures while Ryan talked should also have been included in the definition of interrupting.
In any event, since Raddatz failed to do her job, Biden fulfilled his role as a faithful attack dog. He may have lost in terms of personal favorability but the very fact that more people are remembering Biden smirks rather than Ryan points means his mission was accomplished.
Stealing attention away from Ryan was only part of the strategy. Biden’s flamboyant manner and fast paced draw also deflected his multiple lies. He wasn’t worried because he’s used to talking off the cuff and living within the moment. It usually works. Sure, the fact checkers always catch up with him, but most people don’t study post debate commentary. They form an impression during the debate itself and that is what remains in their minds. If a man expresses himself with passion, he sounds like he knows what he’s talking about.
Still, for those interested in finding some truth beneath the performance, a whole litany of Biden flaws can be subjected to the microscope. The variety itself is quite stunning, from a willingness to throw our intelligence agency under the bus, to a down right lie about taxing only millionaires, unless 250,000 dollars a year is the new definition of “million.”
Two of the more subtle moments in the debate deserve special attention. When asked how his Catholic faith affects public policy, Biden offered the usual drivel about how he personally is against abortion but cannot turn such a conviction into a law:
“My religion defines who I am, and I've been a practicing Catholic my whole life. And has particularly informed my social doctrine. The Catholic social doctrine talks about taking care of those who -- who can't take care of themselves, people who need help. With regard to -- with regard to abortion, I accept my church's position on abortion as a -- what we call a (inaudible) doctrine. Life begins at conception in the church's judgment. I accept it in my personal life. But I refuse to impose it on equally devout Christians and Muslims and Jews, and I just refuse to impose that on others, unlike my friend here, the -- the congressman.”
Nobody bothered to ask if obeying Catholic social doctrine about “taking care of those who can’t take care of themselves” through wealth redistribution or other government policies was also wrong because the government, through taxation, is imposing its religious view on others. Only the protection of an unborn baby causes government intrusion in the view of our Vice-President. Can a case be made that unborn babies are also “people who can’t take care of themselves?” Yes, but who stops to notice when Biden is busy sucking all the oxygen out of the room?
Another interesting moment took place when Ryan said we could “cut tax rates by 20 percent and still preserve these important preferences for middle-class taxpayers.”
Biden rebuked the congressman, saying his math didn’t add up.
“It is mathematically possible,” Ryan insisted. “It's been done before.”
Biden replied by saying, “It’s never been done before.”
Ryan stood his ground. “It's been done a couple of times, actually.”
Then for effect, Biden repeated himself. “It’s never been done before!”
When Ryan said it had been done by President Kennedy, Biden decided that it might be wise not to argue the point any longer. Instead, he offered a zinger: “Oh, now you're Jack Kennedy?”
It was a clever maneuver. Biden quickly changed the subject by making it look like he was staying on the subject. After all, he included Kennedy in his response. The line was more popular when Lloyd Bentsen used it on Dan Quayle but Biden’s objective was still accomplished. He avoided admitting that facts have little to do with his debating skills.
Those are only small samples from a much larger smorgasbord of lies. The fact checkers probably needed a few cans of Red Bull just to stay awake last night and catalogue them all. Every misstatement should be studied, even though the list looks longer than a doctoral dissertation.
Remembering only the rudeness itself let’s Biden off the hook. He should instead be remembered as a loud, lying, disingenuous blowhard who avoided being nailed only by sabotaging any semblance to an authentic debate and guessing (correctly) that a liberal “moderator” would let him get away with it.”
