Ethiopia hold the dubious record of being runners-up in the Africa Cup of Nations without winning a game or even scoring a goal.
That came at the inaugural tournament, held in 1957, after the Confederation of African Football was established by the Egyptian, Ethiopian, South African and Sudanese Football Associations.
Ethiopia received a bye into the final after South Africa were disqualified for refusing to send a multi-racial team, and the Walya Antelopes were then beaten 4-0 by Egypt in Khartoum.
Now, 31 years after their last appearance in the Finals, one of the founding fathers of the African game are back and aiming to make a big impact in South Africa.

It is ironic that after 20 years of "double digit growth" we still playing at the Old stadium built by Haile Sellasie more than 50 years ago.
I bet we spend more of our money on Federal Police,prison system and spying than building stadiums and sport facilities.

National Football belongs to all trash opposing forces (ENTC, G7, EPPF, ESAT,...........) only if the National Football team is wining games. Media like ESAT will report team members including the coach, football federation, sponsors, TPLF lead fans,............ did this & that, blamed for the failure of ethiopian football, press issued & all national team should ask apology and defect or ask asylum like their mastermind country players who defected many times, wetros fessam yeweyane techawache, there was a division inside the players, more than 10 team members only selected from Dedebit football team, 8 from Defence football team, they didn't include any professional footballers from Ginbot 7, EPPF, Kinijit football teams because of this & that, Ho bel Ho ! Yes , Ethiopia is coming back to its glory days as it was glorious in the past . Football and competing in AFCON is another indication country is in the right track of development .I believed that Ethiopian national team will defeat Zambia even with ten players but it happen to draw one to one. These young players are never tire and determined to make miracles in this tournament.
