Most of Prophet' s other elite companions received slave girls as gifts.
Bukhari Volume 5, Book 59, Number 447:
Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: Sad said, "Kill their men and take their women and children as captives, "On that the Prophet said, "You have judged according to Allah's Judgment," Prophet took Rehana as his share of the booty.
Bukhari Volume 8, Book 82, Number 795; Narrated Anas: The Prophet cut off the hands and feet of the men belonging to the tribe of Uraina and did not cauterise (their bleeding limbs) till they died.
Bukhari (52:260) - "...The Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him.' "
Bukhari (83:37) - "Allah's Apostle never killed anyone except in one of the following three situations: (1) A person who killed somebody unjustly, was killed (in Qisas,) (2) a married person who committed illegal sexual intercourse and (3) a man who fought against Allah and His Apostle and deserted Islam and became an apostate."

So, wherever you find them, kill them, for there will be a reward for their killers on the Day of Resurrection."

Bukhari:V4 B52 N256 "The Prophet passed by and was asked whether it was permissible to attack infidels at night with the probability of exposing their women and children to danger. The Prophet replied,‘Their women and children are from them.’" This hadith is confirmed in the quranic verse: 7:4 How many towns have We destroyed ? Our punishment took them on a sudden by night or while they slept for their afternoon rest.

Volume 1, Book 8, Number 387: Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Apostle said, "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah." Narrated Maimun ibn Siyah that he asked Anas bin Malik, "O Abu Hamza! What makes the life and property of a person sacred?" He replied, "Whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah', faces our Qibla during the prayers, prays like us and eats our slaughtered animal, then he is a Muslim, and has got the same rights and obligations as other Muslims have."

Mahommed did not tolerate criticism this is why critics of Islam even to this day are murdered'
Asma bint Marwan, had spoken critically of Muhammad, telling her tribe to be wary of him. She said: "'You obey a stranger who encourages you to murder for booty. You are greedy men. Is there no honor among you?' Upon hearing those lines Muhammad said,'Will no one rid me of this woman?' Umayr, a zealous Muslim, decided to execute the Prophet's wishes. That very night he crept into the writer's home while she lay sleeping surrounded by her young children. There was one at her breast. Umayr removed the suckling babe and then plunged his sword into the poet. The next morning in the mosque, Muhammad, who was aware of the assassination, said,'You have helped Allah and His Apostle.' Umayr said,'She had five sons; should I feel guilty?''No,' the Prophet answered.'Killing her was as meaningless as two goats butting heads.'" (Ishaq: 676)

The scribes of Muhammad were 42 in number. `Abdallah Ibn Sarh al-`Amiri was one of them, and he was the first Quraishite among those who wrote in Mecca before he turned away from Islam. He started saying, "I used to direct Muhammad wherever I willed. He would dictate to me 'Most High, All-Wise', and I would write down 'All-Wise' only. Then he would say, 'Yes it is all the same'. On a certain occasion he said, 'Write such and such', but I wrote 'Write' only, and he said, 'Write whatever you like.'" So when this scribe exposed Muhammad, he wrote in the Qur'an, "And who does greater evil than he who forges against God a lie, or says, 'To me it has been revealed', when naught has been revealed to him." So on the day Muhammad conquered Mecca, he commanded his scribe to be killed. But the scribe fled to `Uthman Ibn `Affan, because `Uthman was his foster brother (his mother suckled `Uthman). `Uthman, therefore, kept him away from Muhammad. After the people calmed down, `Uthman brought the scribe to Muhammad and sought protection for him. Muhammad kept silent for a long time, after which he said yes. When `Uthman had left, Muhammad said "I only kept silent so that you (the people) should kill him." Al-Sira by al-'Iraqi
Bukhari Volume 5, book 59, Hadee(th) number 369 of SaHeeH bu(kh)aaree: Narrated Jabir bin ‘Abdullah: Allah’s Apostle said, “Who is willing to kill Ka’b bin Al-Ashraf who has hurt Allah and His Apostle?” Thereupon Muhammad bin Maslama got up saying, “O Allah’s Apostle! Would you like that I kill him?” The Prophet said, “Yes,” Muhammad bin Maslama said, “Then allow me to say a [false] thing [i.e. to deceive Ka'b bin Al−Ashraf]. “The Prophet said, “You may say it.”
Ishaq:368 "We carried his head back to Muhammad during the night, saluted the Prophet as he stood praying, and cast Ashraf's head before his feet. The Prophet praised Allah that the poet had been slain, and complimented us on the good work we had done in Allah's Cause. Our attack upon Allah's enemy cast terror among the Jews, and there was no Jew in Medina who did not fear for his life.
Burning, was a common punishment against apostates ( converts ) and unbelievers and it had been sanctioned in the quran

Ishaq:316 "Following Badr, Muhammad sent a number of raiders with orders to capture some of the Meccans and burn them alive."
Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 52, Number 259: Allah's Apostle sent us in a mission (i.e. am army-unit) and said, "If you find so-and-so and so-and-so, burn both of them with fire." When we intended to depart, Allah's Apostle said, "I have ordered you to burn so-and-so and so-and-so, and it is none but Allah Who punishes with fire, so, if you find them, kill them."
Volume 1, Book 11, Number 626:Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said,“No prayer is harder for the hypocrites than the Fajr and the ‘Isha’ prayers and if they knew the reward for these prayers at their respective times, they would certainly present themselves (in the mosques) even if they had to c awl.” The Prophet added,“Certainly I decided to order the Mu’adh-dhin (call-maker) to pronounce Iqama and order a man to lead the prayer and then
take a fire flame to burn all those who had not left their houses so far for the prayer along with their houses.”
These actions are sanctioned in the quran:
8.050, And had you seen when the angels will cause to die those who disbelieve, smiting their faces and their backs, and (saying): Taste the punishment of burning

While I was standing in the row on the day (of the battle) of Badr, I looked to my right and my left and saw two young Ansari boys, and I wished I had been stronger than they. One of them called my attention saying, "O Uncle! Do you know Abu Jahl?" I said, "Yes, What do you want from him, O my nephew?" He said, "I have been informed that he abuses Allah's Apostle. By Him in Whose Hands my life is, if I should see him, then my body will not leave his body till either of us meet his fate." I was astonished at that talk. Then the other boy called my attention saying the same as the other had said. After a while I saw Abu Jahl walking amongst the people. I said (to the boys), "Look! This is the man you asked me about." So, both of them attacked him with their swords and struck him to death and returned to Allah'S Apostle to inform him of that. Allah's Apostle asked, "Which of you has killed him?" Each of them said, "I Have killed him." Allah's Apostle asked, "Have you cleaned your swords?" They said, "No. " He then looked at their swords and said, "No doubt, you both have killed him and the spoils of the deceased will be given to Muadh bin Amr bin Al-Jamuh." The two boys were Muadh bin 'Afra and Muadh bin Amr bin Al-Jamuh.

Shai Muslim Book 019, Number 4328: A hadith has been narrated by Mus'ab b. One of the last utterances of the prophet Narrated Aisha:'Aisha and 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas said, "When Allah's Apostle became ill seriously, he started covering his face with his woolen sheet, and when he felt short of breath, he removed it from his face and said, 'That is so! Allah's curse be on the Jews and the Christians, as they took the graves of their prophets as (places of worship) Bukhari Volume 5, Book 59, Number 727Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
Hadith number in Sahih Muslim [Arabic only]: 824
The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Let Allah destroy the Jews for they have taken the graves of their Messengers as places of worship.
"The Messenger of Allah commanded that all of the Jewish men and boys who had reached puberty should be beheaded. Then the Prophet divided the wealth, wives, and children of the Banu Qurayza Jews among the Muslims." (Tabari VIII:38)

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.
Bukhari:V4B52N177 "Allah's Apostle said,'The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him."'"
Even if you are a muderer if you subsequently kill in the name of Allah you will enter paradise

BukhariVolume 4, Book 52, Number 80 Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "Allah welcomes two men with a smile; one of whom kills the other and both of them enter Paradise. One fights in Allah's Cause and gets killed. Later on Allah forgives the 'killer who also get martyred (In Allah's Cause)."
Volume 4, Book 54, Number 445: Narrated Abu Dhar:
The Prophet said, "Gabriel said to me, 'Whoever amongst your followers die without having worshipped others besides Allah, will enter Paradise (or will not enter the (Hell) Fire)." The Prophet asked. "Even if he has committed illegal sexual intercourse or theft?" He replied, "Even then."

Safiya bint Huyai/Huyayy was a captive Mohammed owned after slaughtering her father, brother, husband and the men at Khaibar, according to Bukhari vol.2 book 14 ch.5 no.68 p.35; vol.4 book 52 ch.74 no.143 p.92; vol.4 book 52 ch.168 no.280 p.175 and al-Tabari vol.39 p.185.

Kinana, their chief, was tortured by Mohammed by lighting fire on his chest to find whereabouts of his treasury (Ishaq pge 515). Later he was beheaded. 17 year old Safia was his beautiful wife with whom Mohammed slept the same night.

When, in the early dawn, the Prophet saw Abu Ayyub strolling up and down, he asked him what he meant by this sentry-go; he replied: "I was afraid for you with this young lady (in your bed). You had killed her father, her husband and many of her relatives, and till recently she was an unbeliever. I was really afraid for you on her account". The Prophet prayed for Abu Ayyub al-Ansari.

Kill converts Bukhari (84:58) - "There was a fettered man beside Abu Muisa. Mu'adh asked, 'Who is this (man)?' Abu Muisa said, 'He was a Jew and became a Muslim and then reverted back to Judaism.' Allah's Apostle said, "Indeed, by Him in Whose Hand my soul is, I will judge between you according to Allah's Laws: As for your sheep and slave girl, they are to be returned to you." Then he scourged his son one hundred lashes and exiled him for one year. Then Unais Al-Aslami was ordered to go to the wife of the second man, and if she confessed (the crime), then stone her to death. She did confess, so he stoned her to death.

Conditions to lie set by Muhammad

In his Sira, Muhammad authorized lying to improve the chances of successful assassinations, for example in the case of Shaaban Ibn Khalid al-Hazly and Bin Kaab.

Ibn Shihab said he did not hear that exemption was granted in anything what the people speak as lie but in three cases: in battle, for bringing reconciliation amongst persons and the narration of the words of the husband to his wife, and the narration of the words of a wife to her husband (in a twisted form in order to bring reconciliation between them).

Qur'an 77:38 and Qur'an 9:5 allows the Muslim to use any stratagem. A common Muslim defense is that this applies 'only in war' However as has been demonstrated, Muslims are always at war. General Lying

(CNN) -- A Somali terror leader implored his fellow countryman in California to send money 'to finance jihad," triggering a chain of events that ended with four convictions.
U.S. government agents recorded dozens of such calls a few years ago, according to the Department of Justice.
And on Friday, a jury found four Somali nationals guilty of supporting terrorism in their native country.
The verdict came after prosecutors played the recordings to jurors in a San Diego federal court during weeks of trial.
The four, who included an imam and a cab driver, had raised $10,000 and wired it to the Islamist terrorist group Al-Shabaab, according to the original indictment.
Cab driver Basaaly Saeed Moalin had many phone conversations with former Al-Shabaab leader Aden Hashi Ayrow, before a U.S. missile strike ended the latter's life in May 2008.
Investigators from the FBI, Homeland Security and a San Diego anti-terror agency recorded dozens of them.
Federal prosecutors filed charges in November 2011. The group pleaded not guilty. But the recordings convinced the jurors otherwise.
The money wasn't coming fast enough for Ayrow, who implored Moalin in at least one recorded call to hurry it up. "You are running late with the stuff," Ayrow told him. "Send some, and something will happen."
Ayrow pushed the cab driver to get his local imam to come up with some funds. Mohamed Mohamed Mohamud ran the City Heights mosque in San Diego, which many in the Somali community attended.
Together with a second cab driver, Ahmed Nasiri Taalil Mohamud, and an employee at a money transfer company, Issa Doreh, they raised the cash and wired it to Al-Shabaab , the Justice Department said.
It wasn't the only favor Moalin did for the terror group.
Moalin had kept a house in Somalia's capital Mogadishu, one of the world's most embattled cities at the time. He offered to let the terrorists use it, the Department of Justice said.
"After you bury your stuff deep in the ground, you would, then, plant trees on top," Moalin told Ayrow in a recorded conversation. Prosecutors argued he was "offering a place to hide weapons."
For months, they talked about "bullets, bombing and Jihad," said U. S. Attorney Laura E. Duffy. After hearing the recordings, the jury no longer bought the defendants' explanation that they "were actually conversations about their charitable efforts for orphans and schools," she said.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 16.
Al-Shabaab is one of about 50 groups that have been designated by the State Department as foreign terrorist organizations.
The Islamist extremists have been waging a war against Somalia's government in an effort to implement a stricter form of Islamic law, or sharia.
In recent years, Somali and African Union troops, who have received funding from the U.S. government, have won many battles against the terror group, pushing it back to a handful of strongholds.
For more than 20 years, Somalia did not have a stable government, and fighting between the rebels and government troops added to the impoverished east African nation's humanitarian crisis.

One solution for the Copts of Egypt is to give up their country and migrate to free and democratic states as the Egyptian Jews did years ago. I have included some reasons for this in my answers to questions asked of me recently in an interview with Israel Today writer Ryan Jones. Here is the original interview:
1. Egypt is heating up again. Do you think there will be another revolution, this time against the Muslim Brotherhood?
I can’t call what has been going on in Egypt for two years a revolution, but I can call such an event an uprising. An uprising consists of multiple, massive protests against the existing system, while revolution is to overthrow that system. In Egypt, the system has always been as it is now, Islamic supremacy dominated by an Islamic mentality. In Egypt, the uprising so far has resulted in a power shift within the existing system, such as Mubarak leaving and Morsi taking his place.
For two years now the Egyptian people have been bravely protesting in the streets and squares around the country but, unfortunately, have not yet succeeded in a revolution. Will they succeed in revolution and overturn Islamic supremacy, the existing system since Nasser’s coup of 1952, and begin a democracy? This remains to be seen.
Egypt’s youth went out to protest in the streets on January 25, 2011 and these sustained protests grew into a prolonged uprising. The Muslim Brotherhood attached itself to this uprising to usurp power from Mubarak. Now with the help of foreign power and currency, the Muslim Brotherhood will overwhelm the uprising once again as they did in the earliest stage of the uprising with their balancing act of propagandizing the West and using their militia force. It does not look good for the future of Egypt.
2. What is life like for Egyptian Christians under the Muslim Brotherhood?
The plight of the Egyptian Christians today entails Christian women living in fear of attacks by Muslim gangs because they do not wear the veil. As before, Christians are subject to open discrimination by Muslim Koran-adherents who frequently commit acts of destruction of Christian property and routinely threaten and take the lives of Copts. Muslim mobs randomly bomb church buildings, set them on fire or use bulldozers and hatchets to demolish them — this violence now accelerated under Morsi. Worshippers coming and going from church are at high risk of never returning home, a familiar scenario for Copts.
In this new political climate, the Muslim nemesis has been emboldened. Muslim vigilantes have now revived (unofficially) the anti-Copt Hamayouni Decree of 1856. Accordingly, Muslims actively forbid Christian burials in Christian cemeteries where Muslim cemeteries are nearby — believing that the corpse of a Christian should never be interred within proximity of a buried Muslim. Is this perhaps the ultimate act of bigotry?
3. Does Egypt’s new constitution discriminate against or make life difficult/dangerous for Christians?
Egypt’s new constitution is consistent with and generally supports the discriminatory behavior described in my answer to the previous question and will ultimately endanger the lives of all Egyptians. For the Brotherhood, any approved Egyptian constitution is a façade for the benefit of the West. A constitution’s sole value is to impose religious Sharia law through drafted articles which are absent of religious freedom and universal human rights. This in turn will degrade the country’s economy as it discourages tourism and Western investments.
4. How do Egypt’s Coptic Christians view Israel?
Islamic bigotry and prejudice against Jews in Egypt predates the Jewish State of Israel. Islam’s discriminatory teachings have dominated Egypt’s culture for centuries and have been passed down through generations, infecting Muslims and Christians alike. Public school textbooks saturate Muslim and non-Muslim children in their formative years with messages of hate toward Israel and Jews. Today Christian Copts are awash in the culture of Islam like fish in water and many grossly err in relation to Christ’s teachings on the issue of Jews and Coptic biblical history and heritage.
Bombarded daily with Egypt’s state regulated media dominated by biased Islamic viewpoints, forced to listen to loud speakers blasting Friday prayers from mosques preaching hatred of Jews and Christians, the Coptic Christians and their clergy are an indoctrinated population.
This is a sad reality that is terribly inexcusable especially as Coptic religious leaders have conceded this point to Muslims in order to appease them and perhaps make Coptic life less dangerous which has been miserably unsuccessful. Regarding the State of Israel, Copts love the holy land and the Christian sites located there yet, at the same time, view with skepticism the Jewish population.
5. How do Coptic Christians view “Christian Zionists” who support Israel as a fulfillment of Bible prophecy?
Coptic Christians are not adherents of the Christian Zionist movement and never speak of supporting Israel in ways that fulfill biblical prophecy — awaiting the apocalypse, realizing an Armageddon, or converting Jews. Nor do Copts particularly advocate the tenets which reveal the “Jewish heart” of the true character of this movement, namely; repentance, thankfulness and obedience toward the Jews and Israel – a precept thoroughly discussed by Shelley Neese of The Jerusalem Connection International in her piece last year in the Jerusalem Post entitled, What motivates Christian Zionists?
6. Do you believe there can be real peace between Israel and the Arab world?
No, I am very sorry to say. The problem is not about borders or property, but about the racial hatred of Arab-Muslims toward Jews which is embedded in Arab-Muslim cultures and religious texts.

In the first place, no one wants to be baptized and become a Christian in Saudi Arabia, but some Christians want to work in Saudi Arabia. On the other hand, if Saudis have said that any Christian person should not be allowed to work in Saudi Arabia, then no Christian workers could go to Saudi Arabia to work there. Becoming a Christian in Saudi Arabia and going to work to Saudi Arabia as a Christian are two different statements, and you are confusing these two distinct issues.

How come any person bothers to ask such a stupid question why Ethiopia has stayed as a Christian country for a long time? No one asks why Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Sudan, Somalia, and other Islamic countries are Muslims unless a person who asks such questions has a plan to write a book about the origin of Christianity in Ethiopia and the origin of Islam in Saudi Arabia and in many other Islamic countries.

Building a Mosque does not require a permit from the international human rights personnel. I have already told you many times that Axum is not for Muslims. Axum is for Christians as Mecca is for Muslims. You will never, ever, be able to bury your dead in the Holy City of Axum and to build a grand Mosque near the Holy City of Axum. The Saudi police did not inform these Ethiopian workers before their entry to Saudi Arabia that prayer in a private home is not allowed, but these well-informed Ethiopian Christians knew that the Saudi government had signed in 2006 a treaty that stipulated foreign workers could pray in their private home.

Assassinations: Prophet’s Holy Tradition Takes Center Stage in the Muslim World

Assassination, or secret killing, is the most dreaded weapon to demolish an opposition or to silence critics. Authoritarian, fascist and fanatic regimes have historical used assassination with great effectiveness. Today, from Tunisia to Bangladesh, assassinations by Islamist fanatics have been terrorizing their secular and progressive opponents.

In Islam, assassination was one of the violent tools that Prophet Muhammad used in its founding days. Here’s a brief list of the Prophet’s assassinations:

1) Abu Afak: He was famous poet, aged 120 years. He wrote a poem, condemning the Prophet’s murdering a man named al-Harith. Hearing of what Abu Afak has written, “The apostle said, ‘Who will deal with this rascal for me?’” And a disciple of Muhammad, named Salim b. Umayr, went forth and killed him at the dead of night. (Ibn Ishaq, The Life of Muhammad, p. 675)

2) Asma binte Marwan: She was poetess and mother of five children. When Prophet Muhammad assassinated the heavily-aged fellow poet Abu Afaq, Asma wrote a poem, condemning the tribes of Medina that had invited such a violent person and his murderous gang to their otherwise tranquil city. Ibn Ishaq writes, “When the apostle heard what she had said, he said, ‘Who will rid me of Marwan’s daughter?’” A disciple of Muhammad, named Umayr, went to her house that very night and killed her. In the morning when informed Muhammad of his killing of Asma, he said, ‘You have helped God and His apostle, O Umayr.’ When Umayr went to Asma house, she was sleeping with her breast-feeding baby on her cheast. He carefully removed the baby and plunged the sword through her chest so violently that it got stuck into the wooden bed below. (ibid, p. 675-76)

3) Kab bin Ashraf: Kab was a Jewish Prophet and critic of Muhammad. When Kab heard that a large number of the Quraish died in Muhammad’s aggressively plotted Battle of Bad’r, he reacted, “Is this true? Did Muhammad actually kill these, whom these two men mention? These are the nobles of the Arabs and kingly men; by God, if Muhammad has slain these people, it were better to be dead than alive” (Ibn Ishaq, p. 365). He felt so devastated at the death of so many Meccan noblemen that Hasan bin Thabit, Muhammad’s poet, wrote, “Does Ka’b weep for him again and again / And live in humiliation hearing nothing?….” A Muslim woman, ridiculing Ka’b, wrote: “This slave shows great concern / Weeping over the slain untiringly…”
Ka’b not only expressed grief at the slain Meccans, he also wrote a poem urging them to take revenge on Muhammad (ibid). When Muhammad heard about it, records Sahih Bukhari (5:369), “Allah’s messenger said, ‘Who is willing to kill Ka’b bin Al-Ashraf who has hurt Allah and His apostle?’ Thereupon Maslama got up saying, ‘O Allah’s messenger! Would you like that I kill him?’” Maslama also said that he will have to lie and deceive in order to kill Ka’b. Muhammad gave him permission to do that. Then on one night, Maslama lured Ka’b out of his house, saying he wanted to discuss something with him. When Ka’b, disregarding his wife’s concern, came out, two armed Muslim associates of Maslama, who were hiding nearby, came out and fell upon Ka’b and murdered him. (see also Ibn Ishaq, p. 367-68)

4) Abu Sufyan: Meccan leader Abu Sufyan was one of Muhammad’s numerous fathers-in-law and chief opponent. Muhammad had sent Amr bin Umayyah al-Damri with another accomplice to Mecca for assassinating Abu Sufyan after the disastrous Battle of Ohud. The plot to kill Abu Sufyan failed, but the assassins killed 3 other Meccans before escaping to Medina with another Meccan alive. (History of Al-Tabari, Vol. 7, p. 147, Ibn Ishaq, p. 673-674)

There are many more cases of Muhammad’s order for assassination, which were either completed or failed (See Benjamin Walker, Foundations of Islam, p. 317-319; also see List of Killings Ordered or Supported by Muhammad, WikiIslam). It continued until the last day of the Prophet’s life. A Yemen-based Prophet and opponent of Muhammad named Ayhala ibn Kaab, known as Al Aswad (the Black) to Muslims, was assassinated on the night before Muhammad’s death. (Syed Amir Ali, The Spirit of Islam, p. 217; Benjamin Walker, p. 319)
Muhammad’s assassination of opponents and critics was so useful in breaking down opponents and terrorizing critics into silence that it remained an effective tool over subsequent period Muslim rule to the extent that there developed an entire Islamic sect in the Middle Age, called Hashashin, whose members made a living by working as hired assassins. And from this sect-name, Hashashin, the English word “assassin” and its derivatives originated. This tool remained active in Muslim societies and communities to this day. In recent history, prominent Islamic assassinations are that of moderate Egyptian leader Anwar Sadat, and failed attempts on the life of two Muslim intellectual giants, namely Nobel laureates, Naguib Mahfouz of Egypt, and Orhan Pamuk of Turkey.

After Tunisia, Egypt was the next country where the Arab Spring empowered the Islamists, and brought the radical Islamic Muslim Brotherhood party into power. And soon after secular Chokri Belaid’s assassination in Tunisia, Islamic fatwas permitting the spilling of the blood of the opponent of Islamic agenda were declared. Appearing live on TV, Dr. Mahmoud Sha’ban – quoting the words of Prophet Muhammad from a Sahih Muslim hadith and Sharia Law that calls for beheading those who oppose the leader – issued a fatwa, calling for the murder of secular leaders Muhammad el-Baradei and Hamdin Sabhi, opponents of Islamist Brotherhood government in power. The fatwa sent down fear across the secular-camp politicians in Egypt. And days after Dr. Sha’ban’s fatwa Dr. Tawfik Okasha, Misr al-Youm (“Egypt Today”) TV show host and a vociferous critic of the Muslim Brotherhood, was attempted for assassination outside his house. He was saved by his bodyguards, who fire back at the assassins.

Islamic assassination has also been active in the West, which saw the assassination of Dutch film-maker Theo van Gogh in November 2004 for making a movie, Submission, depicting the Islamic oppression of women. Prior to that Pim Fortuyn, a gay politician opposed to Islamic excesses in the Netherlands, was also assassinated in May 2002 by unknown assailants. Apart from these, a number of attempts to murder the critics of Islam have failed, while many plots to assassinate the critics of Islam were uncovered and frustrated. As of latest, Danish journalist and historian and critic of Islam Lars Hedegaard, also founder and president of the International Free Press Society, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt outside his home in Copenhagen.

And Bangladesh, another predominantly Islamic nation in the relatively quiet corner of South Asia, has just joined the fray of Islamic assassination. Bangladesh is no stranger to the phenomenon of Islamic assassination, as two of her top intellectuals and writers, namely Dr. Humayun Azad and poet Shamsur Rahman were both targeted for assassination. Amnesty International report AFR 25/016/2012 indicated 17 prominent leaders of the Peaceful Struggle and many more have been in jail since July 2012, and were tortured and now facing trumped up charges before a kangaroo court.

International and regional human rights watchdogs including semi-governmental organizations have continuously condemned the Ethiopian government's Human Rights transgressions to no avail. In its report dated November 8, 2012, the US Council on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) expressed its deep concern about the increasing deterioration of religious freedoms for Muslims in Ethiopia. Contrary to these, on February 6, 2013, disregarding both national and international laws, the state owned TV aired an ill-doctored and misleading documentary of cut and paste titled "Jihadawi Harakat" that tried to portray Ethiopian Muslims as complicit in terrorism with Al-Qaida and Al-Shabab, and even Boko Haram.
