Ethiopia stayed top of Group A in their Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifiers after collecting the three points off the visiting Botswana on Sunday.

The Walias left it until late in the game to beat Botswana 1-0 in Addis Ababa.

Ethiopia broke Botswana's hearts in the 88th minute when striker Getaneh Kebede beat Kabelo Dambe to hand the hosts the three points.

Kebede had only been on the pitch for 42 minutes before his goal after replacing midfielder Adane Girma in the 46th minute.

Meanwhile, victory left Ethiopia still unbeaten in Group A from three games and to collect their second home win in the race to Brazil.

Ethiopia remains unbeaten in Group A on seven points from three games, two more than Bafana Bafana.

Bafana Bafana are second on five points following their 2-0 win over Central Africa Republic just 24 hours earlier in Cape Town.

CAR are third on three points from as many games played.

Meanwhile, Botswana stay rooted at the bottom of Group A with one point from three matches ahead of the reverse fixture against Ethiopia on June 6 in Gaborone.

Victory in Botswana in June for Ethiopia will surely end The Zebra's interest in the race to potentially turn Group A into a two horse race with Bafana Bafana ahead of their penultimate meeting on June 14 in Addis Ababa.

Now I have come to know that there’s nothing good that comes out of Ethiopia makes you happy. These boys are on the top of their group, two points above South Africa; a team that had been to the world cup.

The way I see it is this :- If success makes you unhappy, what can you be happy about? Any good news that comes out of Ethiopia makes you noticeably uncomfortable, but why??…. You old azz, you will die unhappy. And on one would care! I don’t even like woyane, and I hate you more!!!

your comment, esp on people like C\’est moi senait [Visitor], hmm..syaing “I don’t even like woyane, and I hate you more!!!” I wanted just to say my own.

Having seen the bind hatred and idiocy of so called “oppositions” and/or “diaspora” AND the racism I face everyday from Whites, who so called “oppositions” would prefer to lick their “behind” than compromise for common good,
have not only make me hate like you, but also made me consider joining woyane! Woyane is NOT my choice or favorite BUT I believe woyane is much more in the “right” track than are people like Al G/Mariam, C\’est moi senait, Berhanu Nega et al., who are nothing BUT CANCERS!
Sorry!!!!
