Polio Spreads to Ethiopia

By Steve Baragona

VOA News

A polio outbreak on the Horn of Africa has spread to Ethiopia.

An 18-month-old child in the Warder district of Ethiopia is the country’s first polio case since 2008.

Warder district is just across the border from Somalia, where 108 polio cases have been reported this year.

Carol Pandak heads Rotary International’s polio eradication program.

“It’s not surprising that the virus is spreading. This area has been considered high risk because of its proximity to Somalia," said Pandak.

A Somali refugee camp in Kenya has also seen 12 cases of the paralyzing disease this year.

The outbreak began in Somalia in May, when a two-year-old girl came down with the disease, the country’s first since 2007.

But this strain of the virus did not originate there, Pandak says.

“That virus comes from West Africa. And so, we need to deal with the remaining endemic countries because that’s where the virus originates. And so, you have to deal with both at the same time," she said.

Nigeria, Pakistan and Afghanistan are the last three countries where the polio virus is still endemic.

Don’t make peoples laugh by arguing that a
Region which the so called Kilil
President and the Head of the Agazi Bandits are multi Millionare,
and which recently contributes for more than 6 Millions Birr, for the Building of the Dead Crime Minister Memorial Center,is unable to finance the anti Polio Vaccination
Campaign .Where the hell has gone the medical assistance given by the UN and other agencies .Most of the times
chiped to the same Kilil (Tigrai).
By the way ,Malaria
desease is also spreading in the country .

Stop killing our people!!!!

Let’s vaccinate as much as possible. Make sure who manufactures the vaccine and ask for sample from the indicial batch.
Reason is the Aid’s outbreak was caused when they made Polio Vaccines from monkeys liver instead of the traditional. The Company has yet to provide a sample which by law they should have.
War is fought in many ways. Be careful and God Bless all Ethiopians.
Amen.

Anything that comes from Somalia to Ethiopia has been very painful to the Ethiopian people: For example, Gragn Muhammad came from Somalia to Ethiopia; the Egyptian army came through Somalia to attack Ethiopia; the Somalia war originated from Somalia; the refugee staff was created because of Somalia; the Somali Prince on this website came from Somalia to decry the Ethiopian Christians; and now this devastating disease – the polio – is coming through Somalia to Ethiopia. What shall we do to protect our borders from being used or misused by the Somalis?

EXACTLY WHAT SHARIA MUSLIM PROTESTORS WANT…

UN REPORT:

ISLAMIC SHARIA COURTS IN NIGERIA BLOCKED POLIO IMMUNIZATIONS, WHICH CAUSED NEW POLIO CASES IN AFRICA, AND NOW INTO ETHIOPIA FROM SOMALI REFUGEES.

It is time to save our children from this deadly disease. All medical professionals specially pediatricians residing in the diaspora need to pack up and head to their native land at once. No need to waste time. Enough already with the talk. It is time to walk the walk.

If Meles is still around, this would not have happened. He eradicated many other ailments including Polio before he marched into heaven last year. Meles was elected as a leader by open and fair elections not once but more than three times. Meles was to me the 2nd coming of a Messiah!!! He was the best communicator who ever lived on this green earth. He did not liberate single-handed just Tigray but the whole of Africa. I really missed him. Ethiopia has missed him. The entire Africa and the poor of the world are missing him!!! A respected elderly from the Great Nation of Tigray who lived nearby the home of Meles parents and was there the day Meles was born had told me that right after Meles came out of his mother’s womb every domestic animal in the entire town along with the surrounding villages was dancing in jubilation. And the sun came out a full two hour earlier than usual the following morning. I believe him because just look at what he has done to our nation and Ethiopia as a whole. He single-handedly transformed the entire country from being a poster child of famine and wanton killings into a one which is poised to be a member of a middle income nation in just less than 10 years. To me and millions other people of the Great Nation of Tigray, Meles is an Abraham, Noah, Elias, David, Solomon, Isaiah and Gideon rolled into one in their 2nd coming!!! I am really missing him!!!!
