Israel’s new tactic: Classifying Eritreans as Ethiopian to deport them

Israel’s new tactic: Classifying Eritreans as Ethiopian to deport them

Only one petition against the Interior Ministry’s classifications has been accepted by a judge, out of 19 submitted.

By Ilan Lior

The Interior Ministry is challenging asylum claims by Eritreans who, it says, are Ethiopian and thus eligible for deportation. A Central District Court judge has ruled in favor of the state in 18 out of 19 petitions against the ministry’s classification.

Eritrean citizens in Israel are granted collective 'temporary protection' and are not deported to Eritrea. There are currently 36,067 Eritreans in Israel, according to Border and Immigration Authority data.

THE COMEDY OF ERRORS!
Eventhough this story resembles to the story of those identical twins, in the above play by Shakespeare, definitely should be characterised the saddest story of our times, as THE TRAGEDY OF ERRORS!
For Isreali’s, the better solution would have been, to invade the huge prison Eritrea and straightened it to be livable, so that the citizens of this place don’t run away ever.

I cannot fully comment on this short article unless I have read the full text from Haaretz about the selective deportation of the Eritrean asylum claimants allegedly classified as Ethiopians, and the full document is not available. As I understand, the judge may have rightly concluded that Ethiopia is a stabilized Christian country, where the rule of law and human right are fully implemented, and, if these Ethiopians who look like Eritreans are deported to Ethiopia, nothing will happen to them. On the other hand, if they are Eritreans and are deported directly to Asmara, they will, perhaps, be sent to jail, if not be killed. If that is the rationale of the Israeli judge for justifying the deportation of the Ethiopians to Addis Ababa, then, in my opinion, his verdict on this controversial issue is correct.

Ethiopians are leaving their country en masse to other countries - even to Yemen, Afghanistan and Pakistan. What evidence is there to the contrary that Ethiopians ARE NOT claiming to be Eritreans in order to stay in Israel. Israel is right to deport the claimants because they are INDEED Ethiopians. Real Eritreans are allowed to stay. And Ethiopians, much as they love and adore their country and claim superiority over others should be content with their country, stay at home and develop it instead of running to all parts of the world!

Whether they come from Eritrea or Ethiopia, These two countries are ruled by thugs and ruthless maniacs who trace their behavior from their time in the bushes and the streets of Khartoum. They should let them stay until things improve in both countries.

@AZ,
Why the Israelis have to do your dirty work for you?
I don’t think the Israelis were singing, hitting the kebero on the street of Addis when Eritrea got independence. Initially, Israel opposed to the independence for their own reason. You Woyanes didn’t listen to anyone except Shabia, you created a monster next door. It is called Essays Afewerki. Now it is your problem you deal with it.

Invading an independent country is out of question, addis zemen must have to correct himself, but the Eritrean problem must be addressed to the whole world so the world community can do something about it.
Many Ethiopians are trying to get an Eritrean passport in order not to be deported,so yes the Israelis have a reason, the two nationalities have been so much mixed.

Aren’t we exaggerating a bit too much, AZ? What the hell has the bard’s work to do with this issue? Israel is a tiny nation almost bursting at the seams with all these immigrants coming in from extremely tradition oriented and backward cultures. I doubt if many of them would even integrate with the mainstream Jewish and liberal Israeli way of life. When Ben Gorion and his social-democratic Jews founded Israel on socialist and democratic principles, the idea was to give a homeland and safe heaven to the Jewish diaspora, not to all sundry attracted by it’s wealth. These Eritreans, I think are actually Ethiopians who just want to escape from the grinding poverty of their homeland; These headache Eritreans are, in my opinion all locked up in that desert piece of prison they fought for, and may they rot there for ever as far as I am concerned. Besides why should Israel invade that piece of scotched and useless piece of desert while it is surrounded by millions of barbarian Arabs? Get your logic the right way, zemede!! Or you may ask Cést Moi, our warrior queen for more explanation, i.e. if she would ever want to talk to you!! Know what I mean, AZ?
Cheers

To Addis zemin
With all respect are you out off your mind or you just have to response to ever article on nazret. It would be melicous to suggest Israel to invade Eritrea. Would it be better to keep quiet instead of suggesting somebody else to do your dirty laundry.

They Got Caught

TPLF scam bags are known for their blatant lies and deceits.

They are known to claim refugee status as Ertrans all over the world but this time they must have been caught.

The Ertrian refugee camp in Tigray controlled by TPLF scam bags has been producing many false documents for its TPLF Tigres by making them as Eritreans.

.

Sociologist and Ethiopia expert Donald Levine has estimated that only 35 Ethiopians went to live in the West between 1876 and 1922. Between 1922 and 1935, the Ethiopian government attempted to modernize its administration and sent 144 individuals to study abroad in Western universities. Upon their return, these individuals occupied positions of high responsibility in the government.

Today, so accurate numbers are hard to come by, but the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) reported that in Yemen alone nearly 35,000 of newly arrived migrants were Ethiopians, accounting for two-thirds of all new arrivals . Between January and October 2011, almost 52,000 Ethiopians made their way to Yemen.

The influx of refugees from Ethiopia in recent times is attributed to the direct result of a failed policies of the regime.

Favioli,…

You got a point there. You’re right.
But my view point here is, how long this outlaw regime of shabia should continue to abuse it’s citizens, who keep dying in the Sinai desert? When is the international community saying enough?
I mean, if Israel recognised people being prosecuted and are legitimate for asylum, that’s a crime by itself to ignore the reality not to address the issue.
Eventhough the people chose this brutal regime in the first place, the international community has a responsibility for the children and elderly, who don’t have their saying.

What’s the reason for the deportation? Israel used contraception under the guise of vitamins to control the Ethiopian population. Twisted minds in this stole land. I am not a fan of Israel.

They are TPLF cadres claiming refugee. It is to get citizenship of other countries to spy on the Diaspora and to look as supporters of EPRDF. Good, Israel, you got them.

TPLF cadres making forged documents and using it for themselves that was meant for Eritreans running back to Ethiopia.
TPLF is still exploiting Eritrians while calling them terrorists.
