Ethiopia climb to 93rd in Fifa world ranking, ties with El Salvador
nazret.com - Ethiopia has climbed 9 points to rank 93rd in the latest FIFA rankings released today, sharing the spot with the Central American nation of El Salvador. Ethiopia is now ranked 25th in Africa behind Congo and ahead of Equatorial Guinea. The top team in Africa remains Côte d'Ivoire followed by Ghana, Algeria, Nigeria and Mali. In the World ranking, Spain is ranked first followed by Argentina, Germany, Italy and Colombia.
Ethiopia defeated Central African Republic 2-1 last Saturday in the World Cup Qualifications, finishing first in Group A. It has secured a place in the third and final round as one of the ten teams fighting for a place in World Cup 2014. It is now just two games away to qualify for the world Cup for the first time in its history.
