Here are the 10 techniques of measurement

Independence: This measurement ranks how independent and balanced the media reports are. It checks if the media is independent politically, ideologically etc. If the media/website has original articles, this measures how independent the articles are. But if the media does not have original articles, this measurement assesses how independent the external articles chosen by the media are or evaluates general neutrality.

Design: this measures the general attractiveness, elegance and sophistication of the media. It also measures ease of use that helps readers navigate faster and assesses professional appearance.

News Content diversity: This measurement shows how diverse the news content is or the ethnic and regional topics covered in the website and/or newspaper.

Language diversity: this measurement assesses the amount and number of languages the media uses. It also assesses how extensively one than one languages are used.

Originality: this measures how much of the media’s content is its own original work and also the quality of the original publications.

Multimedia variety: this measurement checks how many different forms of media are used (example, use of website, newspaper, radio etc) and the technique and number of ways it operates (example, use of videos, text, photos etc)

Influential: this measurement assesses how powerful the media is among Ethiopian society in particular, East Africa and the world in general.

Creativity: this measurement checks how artistic the media is (for example, unique ways to attract readers; imagery; ingenuity; new techniques that allow readers to comment or get involve; use of creative cartoons, etc)

Popularity: this measurement checks how many people know the website inside and outside Ethiopia. The traffic ranking of the website inside and outside Ethiopia (alexa.com ) If the media has newspaper version, this measurement also checks how many people buy the newspaper.

Regularity: this measurement checks how frequent the media publishes and how timely the media works.

These 25 websites and newspapers are the BEST OF THE BEST Ethiopian media outlets in the world. But all of them have space to improve their qualities. One way to compel the media to improve is by creating competition. Unfortunately, the undeniable truth is Ethiopian people have one of the most anti-media governments in the world, which makes it dangerous to even work inside the media industry. Thus, while we condemn the government, let us congratulate all of the courageous Ethiopians who work in the media, especially these top 25.

The top 25 listing will be published again next year in September so make sure you visit NAZRET.COM, the #1 visited Ethiopian website.

This is simply a joke. Who are the people involved in the surveying? If it is based on the dispora, the finding is void and not reliable.
As to me Ethiopian Review should have been at the very bottom of the list. It is the most destructive, biased and anti-Ethiopia website.

I congratulate those websites on their achievement. However, we Ethiopian almost haven’t yet make use of the power of the world wide web. I work in the IT field, and I would say that we need to work much more on this. Most of the websites, even those listed above, are very low quality and have very poor content management. Most of the web sites focuses on news and social networking. We also need to have more websites which focus on science and technology. By doing so we can easily transfer knowledge to each other as well as to young students. I know there are so many talented Ethiopian IT professionals who live and work both in Ethiopia and out side Ethiopia. We can make use of those people and WWW to transfer knowledge to people living in Ethiopia. I believe IT is the easiest industry for us to catch up with the latest technologies. Unlike most of the science and technology fields, IT needs very low investment (apart from knowledge) to train people, to do research, as well as to compete in the global market. I know at least two community web sites which focus on software technologies, a kind of open source, are under construction. Hopefully, we will see more in the future. I once again congratulate those websites and hopefully we will see a more qualified and up to date news websites in the near future.

nazret.com is not in the ranks because they don’y write their own stories. All the do is copy stories that are written by others! My be nazret.com should start thinking about expending on its own stories and balaning news of Ethiopia! Often the admin gets too emoptional and post some rude comments along with those who the admin does not agree with:!:

I find this ranking insulting to my logic. If I take one of your measurements “popularity” it says: “this measurement checks how many peolpe know the website inside and outside Ethiopia". Some of the websites on your list are blocked in our country, therefore, how can people know about them? How can they be influential?

Eliass Al Kiflom thinks his virus website the most popular 15000 visitors daily excluding TemeLaLash. yeah right he must have counted foreign objects such as forks, spoons. he is unhealthy for pro or against.

Nazretoch congratulation!! nazret isn’t just about politics, also bring people together with similar passion dis/agree, brotherhood, hope, entrainment, keeping in touch while running busy and culturally isolated life away from home. if we focus on our many common interests rather than few differences we can achieve a lot in life.
no shortage of land, rivers, ports, but we lack Love for one another.
