Roadblocks

There was a huge traffic-jam on the ring road near the Imperial hotel round-about Wednesday evening. New federali tactics were the course. Addis Ababa has become one step further to a police state. Every car approaching the Imperial hotel round-about was stopped, I had to step out. They did a body check on me while two others searched my car. No questions were asked. Because of this exercise traffic between Bole airport up until the Imperial hotel came to a standstill.
Thursday evening the same procedure in de middle of Kasanchis. Traffic police smiling a bit about the jam and Federali checking cars at random
I don't know if at other places the same things happened. The roadblock near Kaliti is still in function a friend told me.

In the mean time preparations for Fasika are noticeable. Big quantities of sheep are brought in. The question is who can still afford one. The price of one sheep is between 900 and 1000 birr, and the demand is growing because people do not trust poultry because of rumors about bird flu, and the sheik is owning the biggest chicken farm. After thousands of chicken were killed in the Gourage zone and it wasn’t bird flu after examination the Sheik’s chickens are boycotted as many of his products are.
Do you want to go to a quiet place in Addis Ababa visit a NOC petrol station. Well don’t.

The propaganda machine is on full swing now. Last week the Ethiopian Herald reported about the six month performance report of Berhanu Haile, minister of information, titled ; Media role significant to realize ongoing peace, dev't, democracy, good governance efforts. One conclusion is that Ethiopian radio and television are going to be to release its transmissions through internet and satellite so the diaspora are going to be supplied with information. And ' multilateral and unilateral efforts were deployed in a bid to build a good image of the country, particularly to change unpleasant image created due to the violence occurred following the elections. '
In plain English it says that they will intensify the lying and cheating.

Information about our country is really what we are badly demanding these days. I hope U will keep on feeding what is happening in Addis and other areas where U can reach atleast through Ur sources.

By the way, I just read some where in the internet that the poultry farm that was destroyed last time puting ´bird flue´ as pretex was owned by Dr. Yakob Hailemariam one of our elected leader who is languishing in jail. If that was so may be they were just eliminating all competents coming against thier bussines that they hold With Al Amoudin. After destroying the whole farm of one´s property they announced people to eat Chicken with out any threat. It seams that there was some thing behind this action. But I had thought it to divert the attention of others. Now I am also realizing that it was purposly done to harm Dr. Yakob, whom they consider as enemy (member of CUD. In the mean time They are paving the way for sells of thier partner Al Amoudin for easter market too! Funny! The Wealth of Al Amoudin may buy an other money and Weyanes but can not do Ethiopians. I feel sorry for him the one time idol of Ethiopia is now being seen as cursed creature. Not only him But also What he has owned. Next he may even looss what all what he has in Ethiopia. He has to understand that he has had all those bussinesses he is running here are due to the good will of Eethiopians which most of them even are at their expense but not by the protection of Weyane and its breed canibal Legess.

We have read today about the six people killed in explosive blasts in the west and east. Perhaps the intensified searches are linked to that, with TPLF fearing its numerous establishments and operatives in Addis Abeba may be the next direct targets. Could that be a possible explanation?

I was also trapped on Wednesday at the junction near gotera. A lady diplomat from EU with car plate number 89-016 was also trapped for more than one hour with us. She had seen everything that was going on and I hope that she had reported it to the EU mission.

The next day I had also been trapped again at Mekannisa where the search and look of the policemen were horrible. I cursed the day I was born in this unlucky country.

Let God help us to deliver us from Meles.
