The 1,430 anniversary of Eid-al-Adha, Festival of Sacrifice, was celebrated here on Friday through out Ethiopia among Muslim faithful.

Here in the capital the holiday, celebrated by Muslims worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God, was celebrated before thousands of resident Muslims.

The day was celebrated through the offer of prayers at the Addis Ababa Stadium.

Speaking on the occasion, Social Sector Head with the Metrolitan Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Sheik Seid Gizaw Mohammed said the Council would further enhance the development activities it launched earlier.

The development activities being undertaken by the Council are encouraging, he said.

One of the two mosques which are under construction on 9,000 hectares of land is nearing completion.

It's also celebrated in paltalks where the new breed of Ethiopian fanatic Muslims gathering to express their hate over the lovely Christian fellow brother and sisters.

According to my source, prayers and the usual "bura kereyu" baseless talks were offered by one of the admin.
