Angelina Jolie is buying her own country to help impoverished Africans.

The 'Tomb Raider' star, who is currently pregnant with boyfriend Brad Pitt's child, is buying Richard Branson's man-made version of Ethiopia, located in Dubai.

The British business tycoon is having 300 country-shaped luxury island developments built, to form a map of the world.

And the 55-year-old entrepreneur is selling parts of the 'world' to anyone rich enough to afford them.

The 30-year-old actress, who is due to give birth early in May, is reportedly planning to turn her new purchase into a fair-trade paradise for hundreds of Africans.

Heavily pregnant actress Angelina Jolie has finally managed to buy her own little piece of Africa.

Jolie who is currently holed up in Namibia with Brad Pitt and their two adopted children is planning on buying an island shaped like Ethiopia.

Sir Richard Branson is reportedly creating 300 country shaped luxury development islands for the rich and famous to waste their money on, when complete the separate islands will create a map of the world.

According to the Daily Star, Jolie is planning on creating a fair trade paradise for hundreds of needy people.

A source said: “Angelina has been obsessed with Ethiopia ever since she adopted her second child Zahara from there. Her friends are very jealous of her purchase.”

Jolie and Pitt are currently residing at a high security exclusive Namibian resort awaiting the birth of their child.

So now you know why you can't buy/sell land in Ethiopia. I have no sympathy for the meles posse, but it makes sense that, to prolong mama-Ethiopia, land should not be bought or sold. Otherwise, rich people like jolie (may Allah less her)and bill gates could buy up the whole country. In the end, if & when, the true sons and daughters of Ethiopia choose to go back home, we'll be able to afford our own villas :)

Angelina's intentions are generous and heart-felt love for Ethiopia. But I would have preferred it had she invests that capital in the impoverished nation of Ethiopia itself rather than in the image of Ethiopia.

I have sources who deal with real estate in Dubai. They have confirmed that Angelina was in Dubai a few months ago and she visited these islands. They have also said that she is considering naming this island Zahara... what a beautiful exotic name.

Amazing what money can do,not that i have just woke up, but when things are set in a diffrenct prespective you get a little nudge.An island shaped like ethiopia thats bananas ! am sure it will be called little ethiopia .

its cool of her to adopt little zahara and give her a better life.

I think you better line up in Dubai embassy fast. The Ethiopia island is a very small one. Just about enough space for 20-50 homes I think. Here is a scoop on the Island including the map:
