Ethiopia - Africa accedes to voice out its common position at Copenhagen

Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said African leaders have agreed to voice out Africa’s common position on climate change at the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference.
Leaders of ten African countries here on Tuesday have deliberated on the issues in a closed session.
After the meeting the Premier along with Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni
briefed journalists that Africa has agreed to voice out its common position at conference to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Meles said Africa's common position will pay off at the conference.
The impact will be more devastating unless the developed countries reduce carbon emission, he said.
The premier said they have also discussed with the European Union and other continents on ways to work together on the issue of climate change.
Addressing the meeting earlier today, African Union Commission Chairperson, Jean Ping said as Africa is suffering from climate change it needs sustainable and sufficient resources to mitigate the impact.
