Ethiopia Commodity Exchange to launch online trading

By Muluken Yewondwossen

The Ethiopia Commodity Exchange (ECX) is to launch an online trading system next year.
The system, which will include futures trading, will come into operation in the second half of 2010 when 20 remote online trading centres are set up all over Ethiopia.

“Traders can buy or sell from their area using online trading center,” Solomon Edossa, chief technology officer at the ECX told Capital. According to Solomon, while the trading centres are called remote trading centre, they will be fully equipped with the technology and trained staff like the central trading centre. The new trading system will have 10,000 active traders, including ECX members and their clients.

The ECX’s chief technology officer explained that the new system is not limited in its trading capacity: “Due to the number of commodities currently being traded we have projected the number of traders, but if the number of commodities increases in the future the number of participants can increase.”

Jegna,

Well said! I have nothing to add. Now, I am seriously skeptical of Dr. Eleni. Is she really claiming that she would like to adopt online trading in Ethiopia? That is laughable. I think she is trying to create fame out of nonsense and unapplicable ideas. Or she is totally disillusioned.

Peace ya'll.

I am so tired of you all trying to discredit Eleni. At least, she is doing something with with what she knows and believes. How many of you have done anything for your selves, let let alone your country? The world around us is changing so fast...and all we do is whine about the people who are doing something. I if you doun't like what anyone of those people are doing out there, do something s about it...but please, stop your negative attacks...

I'm mad like a hell with those who want to feed the meles kids hard food. They're just kids. They need candies. For this or that mistakes they committ we don't have to spank them. Give them time to soothe.
One more thing. I like the tales written by Eleni. Don't offend her. I'm going to miss those materials for my GED.At least she is contributing to my educaTiON.
And I'm doing something for my country following meles kids advice_they always tell us to do something for the country. Marvelous ADVICE! But they don't feel comfortable when I ask them why they did landlock my country...

The Shabia TROYA hore has no any idea that she is putting the nations economy on quicksand.

She talk about Laptop and wirles...hahha..let alone the poor farmer drink a clean water which is RARE these days. The farmer are still drinking BROWN water and she is talking NASDAQ. The Crack-head shabia agent(TROJA)hore is now suffering from a brain haemorrhage.

Why most of us are so negative about all this thing. Please ppl learn to adapt change. I am sure most of us remember when everbody in usa carries beeper before the cell phone becomes like a trash availeble eveywhere, but in ethiopia we never heard of beeper Ethiopian directly landed on cell phone. So according to some of you ethiopia has to go through beeper technology before adapting cell phone. Please open your eyes and move on instade of complaining. For die hard poletcian please get some life breath fresh air any do your own self analysis instaded of try to put your nose everywhere were it doesn't belong. If Dr. Eleni is you blood sister you would be first in line to prise her. For me she is hard working Ethiopian work hard day in and day out to make a change in her country.
