Ethiopian News Agency

Gondar, Ethiopia -
Gondar University in Ethiopia on Saturday graduated over 3400 students trained in regular and continuous programs.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, university president Dr. Mengesha Admasu said 19 of the graduates received training in postgraduate program. Some 46 others graduated from medical faculty as general practitioners.

The president said percentage of the total female students in university has reached 20 percent. Some 697 of this year's graduates are females.

The university has been building capacity to enroll more students and attain quality of education. It is making preparation to open education and agriculture faculties in the coming academic year.

Dr. Mengesha said the university has launched implementation of Business Process Reengineering to attain quality of education and deliver efficient service.

Handing over awards to outstanding graduates, Addis Ababa University President, Professor Andreas Eshete said the growth in number of higher learning institutions will contribute a lot to speed up the ongoing development endeavors of the nation.

He urged the graduates to contribute in the ongoing efforts to speed up development in the country.

I was soooo happy when I did not see the name of that homosexual cripple Endrias e-shit-ae in the AU graduation. Little did I know he has found himself in GOnder.

Gonder, yejegnoch ager! Gonder sure has declined from her Camelot days. It really is a disgrace that such a great historical city has to play host to one of the most shameful individuals in the history of Ethiopia. Such a defilement and a disgrace indeed!

Dear criticsofdictators [Visitor],

I understand the personal distaste you feel towards the individual you referred. But I don’t think it is neither appreciable nor do I consider it a mark of good personal conduct to defame individuals the way you did [as it serves no one any purpose]. Well, such a comment might sound ordinary under the social and cultural settings of some of the countries we live in but regardless of where we are, what determines our maturity is the capability we nurture “Not to become a slave of our own emotions.” And what is more, wherever we may be, we have the moral obligation to observe to our [Ethiopian] values enshrined in our good cultures and traditions of which “Respecting our elders” is one. After all, age is not something we afford to undermine (our parents should spring to mind).

criticsofdictators,

Hey brother why don't you comment on the news and what change it will bring to our country's development endeavor rather than on the person? Yeah believe it nor not, the country is going to make one more stride out of poverty with the help of these graduates.....Ethiopia is grateful to the country where you are living right now cuz it has kept away a scumbag like you from Ethiopia....anyway have some respect for distinguished intellectuals like the professor....by the way who are you to say these things about him? I bet u have barely completed your elementary education (your mentality clearly shows that). Study first and then comment....

Peace and prosperity to the motherland

Bravo Gondar!

What a beautiful and impressive university. Who has/have selected the site of the university? The landscape, the setting of about 25 4-5 story buildings in the slopy landscape and the canopy of the natural trees makes that place one of the most beautiful universities. I bet! I am telling what I saw recently. I realy recommend people to visit Gondar university when they go to Ethiopia. The crowns are particularly the three new libraries in the three campuses: Tewodros Campus, Maraki Campus and Science Amba. One of the junior staff who was showing me around also showed me the places selected for the establishment of three more units: Engineering faculty, Agricultural faculty and Education faculty. It is beyond any imagination what those guys are doing, achieving and dreaming. I am excited to see also the other universties like the Awasa, Jimma and Mekele ones. I hope I will have time some day.

Bravo Brothers and sisters.

Historically Gondar has been the heart of Christianity and the center of traditional Church education, and the well-known schools for such education have been Gimjavet-Mariam for the Tirgum of the New and the Old Testaments; Tachbet-Baita-Mariam for Aquaquam; Bethlehem in Gaint for Thome-digua and Digua; Debre Inque-Mariam for Kine; Debre-Abay for Liturgy, and many other places for various Church educations. Thousands of students from various regions of Ethiopia used to come and learn in these Renown Church Schools, and through these religious schools, the teaching of Ethiopian Christianity has been reserved for many generations, and thanks to the local people who supported those students financially and psychologically as they learn their education in those Church schools.

It is good news to hear that Gondar is now graduating more than 3400 students in various fields; however, among these graduate students, how many of them are Christians and how many of them are Arab-Muslims? I know, south of Gondar City, a few hundreds of Arab-Muslims live concentrated in one area where no Christians live, and at Addiszemen town, a few miles from Gondar, there are many Arab-Muslims living together. I hope the symbiotic life between the Ethiopian Christians and the Ethiopian Arab-Muslims will continue for another generation.

here we go again with your islamophobia. Maybe it is time for you to check into some mental clinics to evaluate if your brain is not in necrotic stage Woman or man? Haven't you heard of co-existence? Live your fucken worthless life and let the Muslims live their lives. Who cares how many of these achievers are Christians or Muslims - all that matters is they are Ethiopians and I just hope they all land a decent paying job. I wish them alll the best

oh e-shit'e ! End-ria-s E-shit'e is a fagot? now i know that this woyane maggot is everything wrong. I even think that the devil himself has something evil to learn from this absolutely corrupted professor. An addict to corruption, alcohol, sex... imagine what kind of professionals the country expects from universities mainly infested by the kind of individuals at the helm. Nobody expects due-diligence and decency from students of the devil.

Dear Shegaw – Yaayew Hulu Yidenekal (Visitor),

Thank you for your timely advice about my brain that have rendered you mutt and be weltered in the ocean of wrath when you bluff yourself in a fulmination against my grain to promote Christianity in my country and yours in a gentle vein while you are arguing in vain and no-dice.

Yes, you don’t care about the number of Christians, but I do, and for this reason, it is very important to know how many Christian Children are getting their modern education and how many of them are lagging behind since the number of Ethiopian Arab-Muslims is growing every day. I want to see the Ethiopian Christian Children outnumber the Ethiopian Arab-Muslims’ children in everything: education, business, occupation, leadership, and land-ownership, because Ethiopia belongs to the Ethiopian Christian children whose ancestors fought hard and defended their country; therefore, you must know the simple truth, and the only truth, i.e., the Ethiopian Christians will never shack up with the Ethiopian Sharia law advocates: the Ethiopian Arab-Muslims.

The ministry of education should train more youths in forestry and agriculture and send them to the southern part of the country with full equipments to farm there and bring crops to the market at a cheaper price people can afford to buy the crop and eradicate poverty and drive down inflation from the country. Close departments like history, Geography, political science (since all Ethiopians are born with political science knowledge)and give the resources to other departments like medicine, agriculture, Engineering, accounting, Finance. Land managements and business administrations are very important to the progress of the country.

Why Gonder University is graduated more students than Addis Ababa University?

Why Gonder has three camps while Gojam and Wollo do not have any?
