ጊዮን ሆቴል አቅራቢያ በሚገኘው የኪራይ ቤቶች ህንፃ ሁለተኛ ፎቅ ላይ የሚገኘው የኢዴአፓ መድኅን ቢሮ ቁልፍ ተሰብሮ ኮምፒዩተር፣ ታይፕ ራይተር እናን የተለያዩ ፋይሎች የተወሰዱት ባለፈው ቅዳሜ መሆኑ አባላቱ ተናግረዋል።

አቶ ልደቱ አያሌው ስለጉዳዩ ተጠይቀው ረብሻው ተፈጥሮ የቅንጅት አባላቶች መታሰር ከጀመሩ ጊዜ አንስቶ ወደቢሮው ማንም እንዳልመጣና አርብ ኅዳር 2 ቀን ቢሮው ለመግባት በቀድሞው ቁልፍ ለመክፈት ሲሞክሩ አልከፈትም እንዳላቸው ገልፀዋል።

አቶ ልደቱ አያይዘውም በትናንትናው ዕለት ማለትም ማክሰኞ ሕዳር 6 ቀን ወደ ማዕከላዊ ፖሊስ ደውለው ስለጉዳዩ ሲጠይቁ «ታሽጓል» የሚል ምልክት ከሌለው ሰብረው መግባት እንደሚችሉ እንደተገለፀላቸውና ከተወሰኑ አባላት ጋር ቢሮውን ሰብረው ሲገቡ ቢሮው በሙሉ ተደበላልቆ፣ ወረቀት ተበታትኖ። የፋይል ማስቀመጫ እና መሳቢያዎች ተሰብሮ የፓርቲው ማስረጃዎች፣ የቪዲዮ ካሴቶች፣ ቃለ ጉባኤዎች ዲስኬቶች ታይፕራይተርና፣ ኮምፒዩተር እና የተለያዩ ሰነዶች በሙሉ መጥፋታቸውን ገልጸዋል።

የኢዴአፓ መድኅን አመራር አባላት እንደሚሉት ቢሮዋቸው የተመዘበረው ቅዳሜ ጥቅምት 26 እንደሆነ መስማታቸውን ገልፀዋል።

Ethiopia opposition office reportedly vandalized

Nov 17, 2005 (ADDIS ABABA) — Members of the opposition United Ethiopian Democratic Party-Medhin (UEDP-Medhin), Member of the Coalition for Unity and Democracy (CUD) have said that their party office was broken in and party documents stolen.

According to the Addis Ababa based the Reporter, the members said that the party office was broken in on Saturday and computers, type writers and documents were stolen.

Lidetu said that since the Addis Ababa violence and the arrest of some members of the CUD no one went to the office, however, he said when he went to the office on 2 Hidar (11 November) and tried to open the door using the old key, the door refused to open.

Lidetu said yesterday, Tuesday, on 6 Hidar (15 November) he called the Police Headquarters and inquired about the situation. However, he said he was told to enter the office by breaking the door if there was no sign that the office was sealed by government authority.

Following the police instruction, Lidetu said he broke the door together with other party officials but found the office in a mess and papers scattered all over. He said the file drawers were vandalized and all party documents, video cassettes, type writers and computers were stolen.

According to the Addis Ababa based the Reporter, the members said computers, type writers and documents were stolen. One of the members of the party told the newspaper no one had gone to the office since the Addis Ababa violence and the arrest of some members of the CUD. However, he said, when he went to the office on 2 Hidar (11 November) and tried to open the door using the old key, the door refused to open.

He called the police headquarters and was told to enter the office by breaking the door if there was no sign that the office was sealed by government authority. Once into the office, he found the office in a mess and papers scattered all over. File drawers had been vandalized and all party documents, video cassettes, type writers and computers were stolen.

As I understand Ato Lidetu from the interviews he made recently over difrent media, he does not hesitate to organise this kind work. As for me, he has no principle and he is not honest to himself and to the people he can do any thing if it suits him. Howerever, I admit that he has a talent, to talk and convey his message like Meles. Ethiopia nowadays does not need talkative we have already Meles, but trusted, principled, courageous not fear the brutal regime but fear and respect the oppressed people and sacrifice his own interest by the interest of the people

I think Lidetu would have been lethal to EPRDF because he wanted to keep Kinijit legal by joining the parliament!

I think Hailu's strategy of keeping Kinijit out of the parliament and bringing about the total distruction of his owen party is the best thing that ever happened to EPRDF! Kinijit for example, was a baby party of only one year of age! It went on a self-distruction mode by not joining a parliament of mature adults! Instead, Baby Kinijit was violently demanding the berbere and mitmita designated only for grown ups when it should have opted for the candy first!

Ironically,it is actually Hailu Shawel that benefited EPRDF!
Hailu Shawel's now failed and laughable strategy for overthrowing EPRDF ended Kinijit's own life!

Without Kinijit, EPRDF now has much more leverage in the parliament in particular and in Ethiopian politics in general! With Kinijit now dissolved, EPRDF will not only definitly win the 2010 elections, but also reclaime Addis Ababa! (Thank You Hailu Shawel)!

You seem to have missed one important element of Ethiopian History. All the victories you have claimed in the wars with foreigners were achieved because of the courage and the lead role taken by the Tigrayans. The others were either followers or did not participate. There are also cases where they have sided with aggressors. Think of all the external wars Ethiopia fought: Adwa, Gundet, dogali, Metemma, Badime, etc. In all of these it was the Tigrayans who took the principal role. You cannot site an exception to this. The only war in which the Amharas took the lead was the one with the British where Atse Teddy lost without even fighting seriously.
Now you are asking why you have become coward? The answer is simple. You have always been and remain to be cowards if the Tigrayans don't participate. You are trying to alienate and cases fight them but you'll never succeed. It was only the courage and heroic sacrifices made by the Tigray daughters and sons that freed you from the brutal Derg. The only day the EPRDF regime can lose power in Ethiopia is the day when the opposition can indeed convince the Tigrayans to be on their side. Otherwise it is just daydreaming!

One of the reasons why Ethiopians were so outraged and took to the street was that they had unreasonably high level of expectation for the country to go democratic. In a contry where doctors and hospitals are rare, woyane officials had the Army Hospital(tor hailoch hospital) exclusively reserved for themselves and family members. These people are corrupted to their bones. They will protect their life style at any cost. Probably it was not wise to participate in the election in the first place. But we are in it now. There is no way out untill the woyanes are willing to sit and talk. this process is going to take the country decades back again to the usual way of life. Anyway, the poor never had lived any better. Therefore the resistance will continue. By the way, what is the Meles Zenawi's parliament doing in all this? I haven't heard anything they have done or said. He doesn't allow them to do anything?

Bacdk when I used to be a Kinijit sympathizer, I attended one of Hailu SHawel's meetings in the U.S. However, I was disguested when I heard him say that he was prepared to sacrifice 10,000 to 15,000 lives for his power dreams!
