Defending champions Police FC of Uganda were dumped out of the Cecafa Club Championship in Rwanda on Saturday after losing 4-0 to Ethiopia's St George.

St George's victory means they finish top of Group B with nine points while home side Atraco clinch the other semi final spot.

Atraco's 1-0 win over Djibouti's CDE earlier on Saturday ensured they finish second on six points, three points clear of Police FC.

St George won the game thanks to a brace each from strikers Godfrey Sserunkuma and Benyama Asafa in the second half.

"We were simply outclassed by a better side," Police coach Sam Timbe said.

Job well done. Here is a bit of nostalgia. My fond memories go back over 20 years where we witnessed a fierce rivlary b/n Buna & Georgis. It was a reiod rich of talented footballers. The likes of Tsegaye Fantahun, Million Begashaw (aka yemola woyeyet), the two Mulugetas (W/Yes & Kebede), Neguses (Buna goalie). We also watched other talented guys like Bitew Abere(Medhin) Tekabe (goalie),Hiruye (AA Univ.), Does anyone remember the goal Tsegaye scored from almost half field against ELPA(?) in 1977(Eth. Cal) ?

DEAR The Python, You know you are getting really cool these days. I like that man.But why me for captain? Our side has better people like Gundan, Free, DC, Satenaw, Sodo, nbraga, Challenger and others. I WON'T ACCEPT THE CAPTAINCY UNLESS I AM DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED BY MY PEOPLE. And one more point. Where is my man Tekleab Weldenegodguad? You gorgot him man. He definitely deserves is a first choice in our squad. I know that we have a lot of world class players and it may be hard to accommodate all of us. I appreciate the choice of the referee too. How about the linesmen? Any ways, thanks for the fine piece.

Hey Python,

Since this is about my favorite subject, soccer, please allow me to brag a little bit. In real life, I play the position of Zidane (#10), actually wearing his jersey. What caught my attention in the line up you came up with was that "challenger – 2." Believe it or not, in the team we have here, I'm the most feared defender more than the dude who plays the number 2 position. Standing at 6.1' I'm very versatile in that for 90 minutes I go back and forth attacking and defending like hell so much so that everybody asks me what Ethiopia's professional team I played for. Additionally, I'm the referee. If you ever played a single soccer game in North America, you know the kind of argument that goes around on the field. Oh my God! It's easier to be the prime minister of Ethiopia than to referee Ethiopians' soccer games, and imagine doing that while you are also a player on the field playing for one of the teams. However, they kind of unanimously elected me to be the referee and whatever I rule is final. Talk about naturally fair, that is me.

The Python, Thank you for the honor. However, I have to admit, that tricot of a referee does not fit me well since it requires me to be neutral. It is hard to be neutral in political soccer. Besides, I rather kick the ball than watch others kick. The other problem is, may be the main one, that a referee needs to be elected by the members of the teams. I just can not deal with assumed representation by default. I have to admit, I am observing the beginning of cultured discussion, at least among some participants. Keep it up guys. Kill the idea not the person! Challanger, "...whatever I rule is final. Talk about naturally fair, that is me." I have no reason to doubt your integrity. I do know how hot a soccer game can be. Technically, you can be a player and a referee in the same game. The problem is having the respect of the players to accept your decision as final and binding. Respect comes from your proven integrity. Stay cool and keep the game safe Peace
