Another example of how Ethiopians and Africans in general can perform or even out perform at the highest level if given a chance. It's sad that we he have such a substantial reservoir of talent and potential yet its only the intellectually challenged, morally bankrupt, philosophically disillusioned and ethnically biased that always end up ruling our country.

I also hope that now that these guys are in the corridors of power, they will help in designing and steering policies that have the best interest of majority of Americans and Ethiopians at heart instead of the usual elite leaning "let them eat cake if they don't have bread" sort of policies which have been costly in the past.

All Ethiopians are proud of these dedicated and diciplined Ethiopian Americans. There are many more Ethiopan Americans that are just clibming up the ladder. America and what it stands for is a furtile ground to shine for any hard working diciplined individuals such as these young Ethiopian Americans.

God bless our Ethiopian brothers whom through their dedication in education has got them to these high positions in the Obama Administration of the U.S.A. ,You carry a high responsibilty not only to the country where you grew up and were educated, but also to the ancient land of Ethiopia where your ancestors are from. As you a well aware of the Human Rights violations in Ethiopia today we must continue to concern ourselves with tackling the situation so that all Ethiopians benefit through their individual labour and toil."Today it is not one nation or one people alone who cry for justice and peace. The entire world pursues this quest." Negus Haile Selassie, the Father of African Unity and the founding member of the United Nations. Good Job fellas! Your success is our success so keep up the good work. Try to get on the Senate Committee for Foreign Relations so you can use your first hand experience to help make fundamental changes to corrupt African governments. These dictators can lie to rich fernje senators from Texas but they can't fool yeh agar lij:D

Mercato - very well said. I have never understood why their was so much contempt for Ethiopians living abroad. On top of that when did it become the norm for Ethiopians to marginalize and meh nak any type of work. If you are working hard and making an honest living who cares whether you are cab driver, parking lot attendant or a CEO. Do you guys think Asian make fun of other Asians for working in grocery stores or kitchens?

What you do for living?
They really have a good job.
Most important is that they get a chance to show what they can.

We need more countries like US on this world.

You know there are also lot intelligence potentials in Africa, who are well educated, but can not practice their profession because of financial, technological, political, organization .... problems!

In US lot Taxi drivers educate them self, but when they get their Degree, it may be too late ...

In Europe, after being Educated as they were young, they should do some work for living, because ....

So what is the world showing us?

Important is to get a chance, to use the chance they get .... and then to work for a better balanced world ...

What you do for Living?

These two young Ethiopians are inspirations to all of us, young or old. I know the parents of Yohannes, they are one of the greatest people anyone can ever meet. Yohannes' story is the classic case of an apple doesn't fall far from a tree. There is also a saying in our country, Yalzerut Aybqelem.
Yohannes and Addisu keep going on the path of success. Millions are watching your steps and inspired by your achievement.

It is okay to be proud of a success of your fellow Ethiopians or Ethiopian Americans. But it is unfair and discriminatory to look down on other professions such as taxi driving and cashier attendants. These people are also working hard to improve their lives and take care of their family. It is the moral value of one that counts not your education level. Let’s have respect and guidance to each other, let’s share information so people can take the opportunity of this greater country USA to the fullest.

Even the way we look compare to all African country...

I wish we have government who is inclusive and willing to allow all Ethincs to lead and to elect so that those who are talented who run away will be going back to participte but the way it is... I feel sorry for Ethiopia!

Meles only wants those who are opportunistic who cares for themselves and about money to go in to Parlament so that they will calp for him to no end!

SAD!

All of us should work hard in our field of profession...whether we are dr, teacher, lawer, taxi driver or cashier.
The worest thing is to be in a wrong place, forgetting who we are and where we came from....like misuse of druge and being stupid illittrate rasta long hair that have even no time to wash his hair, the one who forget his identity....even some of them seems as if they afraid of being male....and make their hair long and make " shuruba".

The root=Africa

Ethiopia=the symbol of Africa
Ethiopia=the example, pride and history of black people.
Ethiopia=the mother of Egypt
Ethiopia=the birth place of humanity and the first form of human civilization (200,000 years old tools made of stone, wood, teeth, skin, bone and the likes)
Ethiopia=owns the only black people Alphabet that knows no spelling error, useable for more sounds/voices, easy to use it and needs little space.
Ethiopia=fought against colonization to free the whole of Africa
Ethiopia=the place of the beauties
Ethiopia=your admiration is enormous.

Do you know about the Ethiopians in western Saudi Arabia, Yemen, all Gulf States, southern Iraq and India (Malik Ambar-Habesh)? We wonder why the southern Indian, Bangladesh, and srilankan look like the Habeshas. These people are the same separated with thousands years human migration/movement. Do you know who created and built the Babylon civilization? The people from East Africa. Are you thinking the Arabs did build Pyramid and the like? No, the Arabs came to Africa after Islam to spread it using through occupation. Meaning since 1400 years. But Pyramid was built 4000 years a go by Africans. The best and biggest Pyramid called Giza. Giza in Amharic (Geez) means Rule.

So, the roots did a good job by having the brave Ethiopians in the list. Using this opportunity, we ask them to learn the African history by Being in Ethiopia instead of taking the racist white man hate/jealous propaganda against Africa and Ethiopia to undermine the black people all over the world. They have to go back at least 3000 years back in Ethiopia studying well-documented and reserved Habesha people history. We know the African-American action during the Italian occupation of Ethiopia in 1935-1941. we also know the Ethiopians sailors where the first ever black people able to create the first African church called the Abyssinian church in 1808 after witnessing black Americans were segregated from white church and they had no their own. The Ethiopian contribution to the black American especially emotionally was enormous during the bad time for blacks in the white mans world.
