Meles is either full of guilty sense that cannot be masked or denied, So that he has to stay away to avoid the angry faces arising from the atrocities he shamelessly perpetrated against the people of Ethiopia, or there is no one he can trust any more to leave behind so as to look after his premiership.

Seyou is the right hand of MELES. He can do the job just as good as our PM. The PM is busy trying to lift the economy as he has been doing. I am glad he puts the country first. That is what i call real leader.

whether PIMP Zenawi come to Nuyork, or DC or Qabri-Dahari or stays at 4-killo won't change the fact that ethiopian people are hostage of him. Those of you who think he will stepdown by your eyeye's on western streets are bloody fool. Get real folks, don't expect United SNAKES of America or Queen/king of wales or some white azz will care about your godforsaken backward state. They careless for lesser state like yours. So, if you want Ato Zenawi to step down take your AK-45 and run to jungle of Ethiopia or contribute some $$$ for those who are facing his mercenaries.

Meles is neither busy working to lift the economy not trying to stay away from the angry diaspora. He has a very important meeting to attend in Mekele. This is 'gimgema' time for EPRDF. I wonder if the 'gimgema' in Mekele is more important than representing Ethiopia at the UN, specially when the outcome of the 'gimgema' is known apriori. The man has to stay close to his base - what if they consider a vote of no confidence in his absense (something they might not consider doing in his presence). Meles is no Thaksin(ousted Thailand PM).

Ha! Busy my foot! Meles chickened out!

Actually it makes sense for Woyanie to scrap his appearance since it will bring nothing but shame and ignominy. I think the military takeover in Thailand also has some chilling effect on the spines of this despotic looter. Like Urael indicated yesterday, the country is in a heightened state of alert for revolt and mass unrest.

Finally the end is near for TPLF and lekim is already composing the ballad for the final curtain and Wozeiro Condjo I hear is choreographing the ‘deflating baloon’ ballet. Alula Yemesker and Cheffe are designated as the ‘wailing and howling chorus boys.’

Cheers,

You guys keep fooling your self as usual.

Meles is great leader that he is the only leader changed the way Ethiopia was being ruled.

In the past, Ethiopia was going back ward like Camel pee.

Meles sent Ethiopia forward and you can't deny it. Just visit Ethiopia every where and tell the truth.

There was no Ethiopian leader in the past ever tried to improve country of Ethiopia than focusing in Addis Ababa and chasing after their own personal matters and their relatives.

Shame on you guys who don’t like positive change.

You will never achieve with or without meles’s leadership in the future. People of Ethiopia have changed especially farmers.

You can mind your own personal business as usual.

That was what you have been doing and now you are jealous because Ethiopia changed beyond your expectations.
I am Amhar too but what is point of supporting you when you have poor vision for country. Kinijit? They can take a hike in USA. You have been feeding us with empty promises and pack of lies.

He will rule his full term and continue to change Ethiopia as long as he remains leader of Ethiopia.

We unit with people of Ethiopia with confident.

The best support H.R. 5680 could ever have is the cancellation of the trip by Meles. It is a clear acknowledgement of Ethiopian peoples’ concerns over those undemocratic acts.

If you see from the least of all speakers for today, most of them are represented by their deputies, ministers, or other subordinates. Why is so strange about PM Meles being represented by his Foreign Minister? Why do you expect him to go your way? Why do you think everything is wrong with PM Meles?

Fortunately, he has his way too, accurate and purposeful.

Please do not try to fool others. We have never had leaders but dictators and butchers who used the opportunity to grab power and ‘lead’ the country into shambles. He is busy stealing the resources of the country and fabricating false accusations against citizens who want to see real democracy in our country. I think the embarrassment he encountered every where he went finally got to him, and decided to make some more money by staying inside the palace. THE COUP IN THILAND is the other reason he wanted to stay. Leba Woyane!!

Jilo, we are talking about a troubled country, a determined people, a corrupted government, a rejected and hated group and most of all Bandas at the helm of our nation who are responsible for the crimes of all accounts including looting, killing(mothers and babies inclusive), false acusations, hijacking their own constitution, selling out the nation's interests, fomenting hate and division....countless crimes that have carried out through out the past fifteen years........have i said enough to wake u up? u can ask for more if u want.......

We were there at the UN to denounce Melese Zenawi whether he showed up or not it did not matter to us and we send messages to every one who came across our beautiful flag and our beautiful people.

A letter was sent to Koffi Annan to remind him and the International Community, that Ethiopia is under terror after the regime lost election on May 2005.

Ethiopians denounced the unelected leader, Melese Zenawi, and called the names of all the imprisoned leaders and demanded their immediate release from jail.

I had a chance to meet the current advisor to the Somalia government and he told me that he was in Addis and saw many buildings and structures and the economic boom and invited me to go and see it myself.

I told him that buildings can be built in Addis or Baghdad that does not mean people are free under Melese or were free under Saddam, and I told him that our people are living in prison and their leaders are in jail at this moment.

His perception of Ethiopians is very positive since he wittnessed how Somalis were treated by Ethiopians and wished our region get peace so that we can develop and prosper.

The demonistration was successful in sending messages, and some of the participants were interviewed including me, and I thank those who organized the demonistration and those who particpated in the beautiful atmosphere, and I hope on the next UN gathering we will hold flowers for the elected leaders of Ethiopia.

Meles Zenawi and Seyoum Mesfin have both been attending their party's ongoing congress.

The ongoing congress of the four coalition EPRDF parties is expected to end today afterwhich the EPRDF general congress will commence immidiately and last for another week or so.

Therefore you people can lie all you want to yourselves but you can't lie your way to power.

" The Prime Minister is not in good shape, I mean health-wise. He has had a number of strokes over the past 13 months...." said a Western diplomat who wished to be unnamed. "He is uncomfortable with some of his close associates who left all the decision making to him because of his mistrust which is getting worst by day. It sounds to me that tension among his inner circle and the general public disatisfaction is likely to bring an unexpected change in the Ethiopian politics in the near future....."

A young man living in America came back home to visit his family at one time and furnished his mom’s house living in Gondar town. Among the items he bought there was a 29 inch Television which changed the grace of the house entirely and both the young man and the mother were so happy.
After three years the young man missed home and came back to Ethiopia but he became disappointed by seeing a 14 inch television in his mom’s house. He was very angry and asked his mom “Mother, I normally send you enough money to live with and how come you managed to sell the 29 inch TV that I bought you few years ago?” The mother was so sad and replied “No, I didn’t sell the big TV that you bought me my beloved son! 09/22/06 @ 22:17"

Daniel,

We are standing infront of the new challenges of our country. We are committed everyone of us for the better future of Ethiopia. If we always look at the passed happenings which is not applicable for the progress and development of Ethiopia, these things will be the one of the obstructions for the progress.

It is true that sometime we have to look back, but if we look back just to criticized somebody and not consider that is a lesson for us then, thats another hindrance.

We have to focus what is the better for Ethiopia, if we saw something wrong we have the right to criticize and we have the right to give remarkable comments and credits.

My point is, passed is already passed. We have to do something for the betterment of our children.

Lastly, sometime we have to learn "FORGIVE and FORGET".

Meles has tested the water using Addisu Leggese. He must have then decided it would be a life time nightmare for him if he ever were to set a foot in New York. Ever since he ordered the murder of 80 protesters in Addis his status has changed into a fugitive criminal being sought by the law.

All those Weyane cadres in this forum know deep down that Weyane's days are numbered. If news coming out of Ethiopia on daily basis are any indication, Weyane is getting weaker and weaker gradually.
Defections from the military and diplomatic corpes are such indications of a slow death of Weyane. Mark my words - if things change at this pace, Weyane will be history next year this time.

it ain't easy to be a pimp out here these days. It ain't easy to be a dictator in year 2006. Ethiopians are everywhere. They won't give you an easy pass, brother dictator. Go to North Pole, you will find Ethiopians haunting your baby killer ass. Even in Arat killo, you won't get peace while torturing, imprisoning, killing, raping our peeps. 16 years of one man rule is more than enough. get out of the way. there are hundreds and thousands of abled ethiopians who can run that place.

Kijitoch,

Both Meles and Seyoum have been bussy attending their party's congress that has been ongoing for the couple of weeks or so.

The EPRDF general congress should last another week or so. Under this conditions the Ethiopian government officials had no plan what so ever totravel to New York.

But you Kijitoch people are more than free to lie to yourselves all you want. Hopefully, it helps you sleep better at night.

If UN denies speaking privilege to Ethiopia citing the gross human rights abuse, imprisonment of elected leaders, silencing free press, and murder of children and women, I will have a better image of this international organization. I understand that UN does not have a lot of political power over such weak but opressive and dictatorial governments unless particular member states decide to do something about it, which is unlikely in this case, given that it contaradicts their national interests. However, they can send a message in such occasions to the dictators and their supporting western governments. Ethiopians who came out to the demonstration at the UN have done a great job. Thank You. Really.

The humiliated leader of ethiopia did the right thing by not showing up @ the UN. He lost his creditability as a leader. What ever he was about to say at the UN don't represent the voice of the people of ethiopia.

Yirgacheffee,

Ummmm. . . Party`s Congress? for what?

Cheffee, how many times your LEBA Party has such kind of meetings and congresses in every year? and how many times the UN general assembly has such kind of meeting or summit?

Are you treating us same with your peanut size brain? If you are frustrated with this issue dont ever include us with your day time dreaming.

Due to this cancellation, your LEBAparty hold an urgent meeting to make another plan how your party will LOOT money for their "LAST TRIP" from this Illegal Government. Did you know that??? AS*HOLE!!

To Kidist Ashagre and her Cohorts

You are very foolish. While the world is advancing forward for brotherhood and destroying the barrier of ethnicity, you are shouting for the dictator Meles. This may be because you belong to his group and if so you are fighting for a clique's cause. Or you may be serving as a mercenery by filling your tummy. In either case you are denying the down trodden masses of Ethiopia.
The only change Meles introduced is a modern way of robbery and newer tactics of murder and ethnic cleansing. He is equivalent to Idi Amin of Uganda, Pol Pot of Indonesia, Slovodan Melosevic of Yugoslavia.
You guys be careful!!! When history rolls on, all of you will have no holes to hide you. Do not think that the masses will be fooled. Grievances are widening the camps that you have to find your way out instead of adding lies on heaps of lies.

The main reason for him not to face the world forum is that everybody knows he is nothing but a thug and lives by terrorizing, intimidation, killing peacefull unarmed children. Furthermore, he is busy inflaming ethnic conflict between minority tigreans and others. We know what speech he gave in Mekele!! He still busy separting tigraye from the rest of the country. He is nothing but a devil.
