MIDROC Ethiopia to establish various factories in Ethiopian Millennium

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (ENA) - Sheikh Mohammed Al-Amoudi, owner and Chairman of MIDROC Ethiopia said the company has plans to establish glass, brick and textile factories at the turn of the century.

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Amoudi said recently that MIDROC Ethiopia would strive to speed up development in the Ethiopian Millennium more than ever before.

He said the company has plans to further strengthen its participation in the country's economy in the Ethiopian Millennium by establishing glass, brick and textile factories, among others, all over the country.

Various development works would be carried out in Oromia, Tigray and other States in 2007, the construction of over 270 million Birr textile factory in Mekelle town of the Tigray State is among the activities, the chairman said.

Up on going operational, the factories are expected to create jobs for enormous unemployed youth and would also contribute a lot for the country's economic development.

The company is striving to make independent various development institutions under MIDROC Ethiopia, he said.

New history should be registered in the new Millennium to bring about rapid economic development in the country, he said.

The chairman called on the society to do its level best for the achievement of the ongoing development activities.

He said MIDROC Ethiopia has secured over 800 million Birr foreign currency for the country in the construction, industry and other sectors over the past few years.
