Personally, I believe the CUD'S have a hidden agenda and wrong expectation twords these two guys. Perhaps, hardlinear Amhara's want to keep their language and culture dominantly at the risk of other nationals value; culture and langua. This is common abuse against other national in the name of One Ethiopia. I can name it "consfication of nationalism in the name of one Ethiopia". This is what the two southern leaders do not want to buy. They, of course, are not there to do someones job, which might be putting Mr Hailu the next leader. Wo is wrong?

It is a sad development for the country as a whole. The action defies the purpose of the formation of UEDF. It only validates the view that the Amhara hardliners that are pushing to establish one united Amhara organization with the eventual merger of CUD and the remnants of UEDF. The problem with this politcal development is that Dr. Beyene Petros and Dr. Merera Gudina have powerful and popular support than any group of the rest of UEDF members. They may have calculated the current apparent strength of CUD, but it is an ephemeral strength and it will come down crushing soon. As much as I want the TPLF to go, we the people will not allow CUD any of their sattelite organizations to dictate our poltical future. We have a just cause to fight for and the solution does not rest with CUD or CUD surrogates in UEDF.

I think in Oromiya and Debub UEDFand CUD movement come to an end.

Let's hope that Ethiopians start embracing the reality that it is upto the people to make a change, not one or two leaders. It is unrealistic to expect some extra-ordinary leader to lead the people into a whole new social and economic nirvana. I do believe that if each and every Ethiopian manage to do their best in terms of hard work, solidarity, and determination, the dictators, opportunists, and dividers will never had a chance to assume power; but, thanks to laziness and lack of determination, the doors to systematic abuse of power are wide-open for those who want it. I don't see a merit whining about, let's be the difference we would like to be.

There you go! what goes around comes around. it was not long ago that we started speculating that the two DOCTORS are going to face such an outright contempt by those extremist forces.it happened that they are ousted from the UDEF leadership. the question is who is that leadership that ousted yhe two DOCTORS?what are other member organizations of the UDEF other than SEDO and onc?at least the most known are the aforementioned ones.the most charismatic leaders are the two DOCTORS. I think Dr MERERA has easier job to do which is going to the young ONC guise and apologize for staying that long with the enemies of the people of OROMO. he can be assured that his apology will be accepted. These tow guys, are they sick? Why do they go and kneel down under thier boss, MELES, in their "Parlama". I am not surprised that they claim the decision taken to fire them for betrayal is illegal because 'it is not called by THEM!!' Can you see where this kind of "Bossness" is gong to? It is only neftanyas that lose from true democratization and federalization of Ethiopia. All Ethiopian peoples including Oromos, Amharas, Tigres, Gurages, Sidamas, Hadiyas, Kambatas, Kafichos, Afars, Somalis, etc. benefit from the democratization and federalization. That is why neftanyas always fear democratization of the country. They had already their turns. They have tried their way for over a century. It has never worked and it will never work.

Now is the time to try a new approach. Woyanes(TPLF/EPRDF) have started on the right track but have not wanted to go as far as it takes to truely democratize and federalize the country. That is for obvious reasons. True democracy threatens their power. Woyanes are good and generous on the rhetoric as to how the country can move forward but far too short on actions. This cannot take us any farther than where we are today. It seems that woyane has learned its lessons the hardway.

The way forward is putting the rhetoric into actions. For that to materilize, TPLF should form alliance with the democratic forces such as OLF, ONLF, SLM and others which operate in the country. A major concession is also expected from TPLF. Look at what is happening in the Sudan, Burundi, Kenya, etc.

As far as I am concerned, I have never seen any independent Amhara based organization which has a program to truely democratize Ethiopia. They are all neftanyas and do not represent the peace loving and hard working Amhara people nor anyone except themselves. All of them, though they want to trade in the name of "Ethiopia" and "Ethiopian unity", have the ulterior motive and hidden agenda of creating Amhara dominated Ethiopia. In action, they work against Ethiopian unity and they are the number one enemy of Ethiopia and its peoples. They are the major part of the problem and not a solution by any stretch of the word. They have not understood yet that their way has never worked and will never work.

However, they have a magic word to mobilize the unity loving Amhara people, i.e., "Ethiopian Unity". They mobilize them especially during demos and fund raising events in this name. They also play to their fears by portraying Oromos and other oppressed peoples as their enemies. At all turns and twists, they try to drive wedges between Oromo and Amhara peoples; and also between Oromo and other peoples. Thanks to God and to the dismay of the neftanyas, that has never worked. The two peoples have been living together for too long and they will live together in a new era in a truely democratic Ethiopia. The same holds true for the rest of the Ethiopian peoples.

Truely partriotic Amharas should ask organizations which trade in the name of Amhara and Ethiopia, which use Ethiopia in the name of their organizations as a facade, what program they have to solve the century old Oromo and other oppressed peoples' problems. We all must be critical of the organizations we support to solve our problems. We must squeeze them until they come up with solutions which help Ethiopia to move forward and its peoples live in peace, harmony, mutual respect and prosperity. I know almost all neftanya organizations have a handy answer to dismiss the legitimate questions off hand. "We are all 'one'. No Oromo, No Amhara, No Tigre, No Gurage, No Hadiya etc. We are all Ethiopians".

Their ulterior motive is clear to everyone. We all understand what they mean by "one" and we all know what they have been doing in the name of "oneness" and/or "unity".

Let us stand up for true democracy and unity in which the rights of all Ethiopian peoples and citizens are respected. We can create a new Ethiopia in which individual and group rights are respected. In true democracy one cannot exist without the other (individual and group rights). For instance, we cannot respect an individual's right if we respect only his right to speak his native language but deny his right to use that same language as a medium of administration and instuction in his locality (region) if a group of people (majority) in the region wish so. That is not a democracy. We have to respect his rights and his group's rights to use and develop their languages in their God given localities.

We all have to stand up for the rights of all Ethiopian peoples and not for the domination of one in the name of "unity". Let us learn from the brave woman who passed away yesterday. That brave woman, ROSA PARKS, stood up for hundreds of millions of us by sitting down on a bus chiar in Motgomery, Alabama, on Dec. 1, 1955. She galvanized the civil rights movement and today we all, especially those living in the U.S., enjoy the fruit of her unparallelled brevity. She earen the respect of the whole world including the white Americans. By standing up for the right of all Americans, she has made the counrty better and stronger.

If we stand for the rights of all Ethiopian peoples, we make our country much better and stronger.

The cloud is clearing. Neftanyas and the Ethiopian peoples and their ture leaders are sorting themsleves out. The line is being drawn between neftanyas and the rest of the Ethiopian peoples who want to live together in peace, freedom, democracy and unity. For that is to happen, the biggest obstacle for democracy and development of the Ethiopian peoples, the neftanyas, must be dealt a final blow and the road forward must be cleared.

What we see happening in UEDF and CUD today is a part and parcel that sorting out process. This has been expected to happen. The diaspora based member organizations of UEDF (EPRP, etc.) have been dreaming to make use of Dr. Merera and Dr. Beyen as pawns to attain their unattainable goals. But the two visionary and brave leaders and their popular organizations stood on the side of the peoples who elected them. They showed to the world that their primary purpose is not to serve old diaspora politician who have a hidden neftanya agenda.

The two leaders and and the diaspor politicians have gone together as far as they can go and the two brave leaders said here is the stop we want to get off from neftanya bandwagon.

Neftanyas are being isolated eveywhere and those who want true freedom and democracy are joining the freedom and democracy camp of the Ethiopian peoples. The same thing is happening in AAPO/CUD. The Ethiopian peoples are saying enough is enough with the old, obsolete and savagary neftanya system and their ardent supporters.

hidden agenda collaborating secretely with this banda Meles.Meles has tried to infiltrate
to our genuine parties so many times by bribing and offering positions to his puppets such as Beyene and Merara.Thanks to our brave leaders,their hidden agenda
is exposed forever.They can't cheat
our people any more.HOW CAN THEY IN
