Turkish Airlines starts flight to Ethiopia

Turkish Airlines starts Ethiopia flight to boost economic ties
April 24 2006

The beginning of Turkish Airlines' flight to Ethiopia would further strengthen the existing economic relations of the two countries, the company management said Sunday.

Halil Tokel, vice-president of the airliner, said the flight would pave a way for Turkish entrepreneurs to participate and benefit from the trade and investment opportunities that exist in Ethiopia.

Tokel made the remark at a launching ceremony of the airline's first flight to Ethiopia held at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.

He said the Turkish Airlines has planned to prepare special flights for the Turkish business community in a bid to introduce the existing trade and investment options here in Ethiopia.

Tokel also said the Airlines would strive to creating suitable situations in forging closer ties between micro and small-scale business enterprises of the two sisterly countries.

He also said the flight of the Turkish Airlines to Ethiopia has greater political advantage, as Addis Ababa is the epi-center of Africa's politics.

The Turkish Airlines will fly to Ethiopia twice a week via Khartoum, Sudan.

Gosh, addis-there is a turkish proverb, everytime heard in every turkcommunity. "türkün türkten bashka dostu yoktur" means, a turk can only trust another turk. What does it mean to us? WHEN THEY ONLY CAN TRUST EACHOTHER,HOW WE CAN TRUST THEM?! Including their airlines-In our ETHIOPIAN HISTORY,we tasted what turkish act means to us-"Inde Granye Mohammed" T'or Worerana Mebelashet.
