UK Becomes Ethiopia's Sixth Top Investment Partner

United Kingdom has become Ethiopia’s Sixth top investment partner, Ethiopian Investment Agency said.
Agency Director General, Abe Woldemeskal said UK stands 6th out of 95 countries from which Ethiopia gets Direct Flow of Investment.
Abe made the statement during the signing of the agreement on the promotion and protection of investments between the governments of Ethiopia and UK.
Abe further said the agreement will create confidence and a legal environment conducive for investors of both countries.
Between 1992 and October 2009, 574 investment projects with an estimated investment outlay Birr 10 billion Birr from the United Kingdom were licensed.
Of these, over 22 per cent are under operation and implementation, according to Abe.
British Ambassador to Ethiopia, Norman Ling said a business and trade delegation will come to Ethiopia next year.
